The Aircast AirSelect Walker Brace / Walking Boot is the most-advanced walking boot, engineered to provide the ultimate in protection, comfort, and edema (swelling) control. You can do it in this boot.

My wife didn't have much choice. She had to wear this boot for months so that her foot could finish healing. That was back before COVID when we had travel plans, and the plans called for long flights, lots of walking (in cities, not in the rough), lots of stairs, and patience on my part. It was boot or cancel the trip, so she tried hard. There was a place where all the streets had cobblestones. She was able, with this boot, to walk there. Lots of challenges, all successful. If your doctor says you need a boot to recover, be sure to try this one. She did heal and has not needed the boot since, but it took several months, and she has stayed healed.

Great support for injured foot or ankle!!

This boot is sturdy and made of good quality materials. It is very supportive of the foot and ankle and is easy to walk in and is easy to apply and remove!!

The Short definitely lets your foot move around more than the Elite boot.

OK, I've bought and am using both the Short and the Elite boots. But, since Amazon won't let me review them separately, this review covers them both: The Elite (large) is excellent at what it is supposed to do. I did have to add some dense shim foam under my heel because there was enough give in the foot bed that my planar fascia was hitting. Since that is what I am supposed to be isolating, the shim was necessary. Otherwise this boot is great at doing what it is supposed to. The Short is a welcome change from the rather large but oh so comfy Elite boot. Because it isn't as tall, it also lets your foot be more active. I like that because I don't have any bone damage and I'd like my ankle to keep limber. I trade off between the two - the Short for less stressful exercise and when I'm at the office and kicking around at home; the Elite when I am out and about and need to move. A note on the Short: Is that velcro noise when you walk bothering you? Pull out the liner and look at where the top strap goes through the boot shell. If you can see the white hook tape, that is where the noise is coming from. Reposition the top strap to cover all of the white hook tape and the noise should go away.

Worked as expected. No issues

Well, if you have to have one, this one worked great. Not too bad on the cost either. Design is good and the boot protects as expected. Rather easy to put on after a few trials. Air cushion is a big help to protect and to ensure the fracture heals as expected.

I️ recommend this boot!

Overall, I would recommend. 3 days before a hiking trip to Big Bend, I dropped 70 lbs on my foot breaking two small toes and bruising my entire top foot. I️ did my research and found next day shipping for this boot. I️ have to say it is comfortable and got me through 3 hikes and 7 days of walking. I’m still wearing it. I️ have Size 12.5 feet. As you can see my big toe did hang out. I️ occasionally hit my big toe hiking. But you get more aware as you wear the boot. The air support lasted well- but I️ may have a small leak in mine. I’m sure if you’re not over doing it, the device will stay inflated. I️ have to inflate mine about once every 2 hours. Hope this helps!

Lightweight and secure

I'm a 10.5 and bought a large. The large is better than the medium for walking but not as tight fitting on the ankle. If you are not walking on it and need it more for stability I would go with the medium if your a 10.5. I also own the taller version of the same boot. The taller version was better for early in my injury when I needed to keep my ankle completely immobilized. I switch to the short after about four weeks because it was difficult to walk with the taller boot in my ankle felt better. This boot is much better than the black ones they give you at the doctor. It's lighter and has more contoured edges which prevent you from accidentally catching your toes on objects and twisting your ankle even more. I had a fractured 5th metatarsal and severe sprain I found the padding the bottom of these boots to be much more comfortable than anything else.

Comfortable Air adjustability

I ordered another boot on Amazon the black one with the blue inflate button. Received it and there was no air function. I inquired the seller and they stated I didn’t order an air boot.Rather sternly at that. I went over the description again and it clearly stated pump up to secure fit. Contacted Amazon and they agreed with me that it was described as an air boot. Requested return. Seller then apologized but I’d started the return process. Shopped again found this Gray boot AIR! Ordered the short boot received in 2 Days It’s just what I needed. Comfortable adjustable air The Top Velcro strap could be a little longer it seems rather short compared to the lower strap. Seems to stay firm and inflated , no leaks or air loss until you touch the deflate button. I’m happy with this purchase.

Same Boot From Orthopedist Half the price!

This replaced the boot my husband was sent home from the hospital after his surgery. We purchased it because it was wider and fit him much better. Purchase price from orthopedic office was over $200 and this was more than half the price for the same boot. Saving it for the next surgery!

Making a difference!

I only wish we had found this a couple of years ago! My husband has been suffering for over two years from two torn tendons in his foot. Constant pain. And then, he took a tumble on a hike and further damaged it - this time with a fracture. He has been wearing the boot for about a week now is is finally having some pain free days!! Also, we go for some pretty good walks now!
