I really wanted to like this, but....

When I opened the first box, it appeared to have been a returned item. All the parts were unwrapped, plastic still in the box, and the bolts were scattered throughout the box. I didn't bother trying to see if all the parts were there, I just ordered a new one and returned the first. The second box arrived in poor condition also with the bolts also scattered throughout the box but the metal parts were at least wrapped. I decided to go ahead with assembly. All of the pieces were in the box and assembly was relatively easy. As much as I wanted to like this product, mainly because of its size, I ended up returning it as it would not work for me. I have dumbbells from 5-50 lbs in 5 lb increments. I placed the 30-50 lb rubber hexagon dumbbells on the sides. Unless the dumbbells were positioned just right, I could not remove the 35lb dumbbell without first removing the 30 lb dumbbell first. The flat surface of the dumbbells had to be perfectly horizontal to remove the 35 lb dumbbell. I put the 5-25 lb dumbbells on the horizontal rack. The two rails on the horizontal rack were too close to each other that my hand (which is medium size) could not fit between the rails to grab the dumbbell by its grip. I had to grab the dumbbell by its ends to remove it. There were already chips in the paint on the horizontal rack when I received it and since it is not rubber coated, like the end pieces, I assume the paint would continue to chip with use. The rack was easy to assemble and seemed sturdy but I found it would not work for my weights (5-50 lbs). It would probably work well for a lighter weight range and if you do not store dumbbells on the horizontal rack (use it for kettle balls?).

Nice and tidy!!

Purchased this to hold my growing collection of rubber coated Hex shaped dumbbells. Shipped quickly, very well packaged. It even arrived on a Sunday. The stand included no instructions but it's 4 parts and 8 bolts. It does not take a mechanic to assemble it. The box does include some simple tools for assembly but I used 2 14 mm wrenches from my tool box to assemble it in about 10 minutes. I also added lock washers when assembling it. It bolted together quickly and is very sturdy. Does the job its intended to. For the price its a steal! Buy it and get your dumbbells off the floor.
