This Anderson Metals 56101 barstock tee is a brass pipe fitting with 1/4" female NPT threads. The tee fitting is T-shaped and has three openings to connect and branch three pipes, two on the main run and one branch at a 90-degree angle from the middle of the tee. Pipe dimensions for tees are represented as A x B x C. "A" and "B" indicate the main run on the fitting, and "C" indicates the branch. It has female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for connecting to male threaded pipes, creating a tighter seal than straight threads. This fitting is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Brass can be connected to copper, brass, plastic, aluminum, and welded steel. The fitting has an operating temperature range of -65 to +250 degrees F. This fitting meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) B584 and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B16 specifications for quality assurance. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness). Anderson Metals manufactures brass fittings, valves, and pipe nipples. The company, founded in 1951, is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.

Solid brass T
Great solid product, properly threaded, used with thread tape and hasn’t leaked.

Nice Brass 1/4 NPT Tee
I agree with other reviewers who have stated that the picture is not accurate. The fitting is turned down to a round pipe-like end on all three arms of the T - unlike what the picture shows. I deducted one star from the review for the inaccurate and misleading picture. In terms of functionality, in most cases this will not affect the use of the fitting. These are brass 1/4 NPT fittings not 2” steel fittings - You do not crank away with all your strength with your biggest monkey wrench to make the fitting leak-tight. Personally I use Teflon thread tape on the threads, some people use thread goo of some type to make the fittings absolutely leak-tight. In any case, brass fittings are generally more accurately manufactured and turned so they do not require as much pressure in tightening the fittings as larger galvanized iron fittings. I found the fitting to be exactly what it is - a 1/4 NPT brass Tee, female all three ends. The Threads seem accurately made and fit exactly with my male 1/4 NPT pipe fittings. By the way 1/4 NPT is the size frequently used on compressed air fittings in the USA. The 1/4” refers to the nominal inside diameter of the pipe. The diameter of the threaded hole is obviously larger.

Worked Well, Used on Smittybilt Compressor
I modified my Smittybilt compressor so it shuts off when not being used. Was a great add and really assisted in functionality. The only downfall is the supplied soft case no longer works. So Im shopping for a new option. You cannot see the actual pressure switch because I used a piece of kydex to cover and protect.

Excellent, Strong Tee
I really like Anderson's brass fittings.... And this one is certainly one of the best. This barstock tee is extremely strong and well made. I found the threads to be well formed and well within the "standard" for size. They felt extremely "smooth" going together and all appropriately sized fittings mated up perfectly without bottoming or leaking. The sidewalls are strong and allow for a good gipping surface for tightening and retention in place without danger of damage or collapse of the fitting due to tool pressure. I don't believe there is a better product on the market for it's intended usage. Five (5) stars for a great product at a reasonable price. While in the process of a project, I purchased several of these tees in different sizes and configurations....this is one of them. I have posted a substantially similar review for each of the tees I purchased....

Works well, not a showroom piece
Good quality, except it had a minuscule thread defect, I’d have guessed the threading operation stopped and restarted because there was a line following the contour of the threads in one hole. Doesn’t leak so I’ll rate it high. Has somewhat of a banged up finish, minor dings and dents, none larger than a sixteenth of an inch wide nor deep. But it works fine. I’m using it to rebuild a 6 gallon air compressor valve system.

25% off them had threads cut too deep that I couldn't get a seal with teflon tape or thread sealant
3 of the four worked as expected but couldn't finish project on time because I had to re order to replace one that had its threads cut too deep and I couldn't get a proper seal. I did have this in a system on a Nitrogen bottle where it was subject to 2500psi. May have been good enough for less pressure.

Works like it should, thanks.
Use this along with a few other parts to make a pressure gauge to test my PC water cooling system for leaks. Just as described and works great

Completely great functional part.
I used the part to rebuild an air compressor The threads looked fine and sealed well. The exterior finish was rough, but I didn't buy it for beauty.. It would be easy to polish if someone needed to. Love the square billet easy to hold with a wrench. I received the parts in the image.
