It's OK
I had the same fears about this pot that many others did. The connectors holding the pot to the string a cheap and fragile looking. I used small zip ties to strengthen it (I'll post pictures under the Olive color). The Pot is decent quality but after only a few weeks one of the hot glued seems has a small leak so if the water drips down in a certain spot it will fall out instead of going into the reservoir. It's an OK looking pot on the outside, is the right size that I needed, and the self-watering seems to be working so I'll keep it. I'd look around more before I bought another one though.

Poor design
Plants are doing great in the pot since it has a water reserve. However, the fill spout is on the side of the planter. Because of this, you have to physically hold the planter sideways to fill. I get around it by just pouring water into the soil until it starts dripping out the fill port. Great pot, poor design.

missing part..
the inner tray is missing.!!!!!!! this WILL NOT function without it. Not happy about it.!! I would like a COMPLETE one, this is worthless,!!! and it cost $30.00. I will change my rating when I get results..

Plant is thriving
Great planter. I have a very large pitcher plant in it that just keeps growing (I cut it back often). Takes all the guesswork out of watering - I just keep the reservoir filled. I have another self water planter from a different company that drowned my other pitcher plant. This one is great.

Protential Problem Solved
I bought two of these. This is one of the best design in a self watering container. One weak point, as indicated on many reviews, is the inferior plastic clip that supports this hanging container when filled with soil and water. I did not chance the potential issue so I removed the clips, placed the cord in the hole and put a small finishing nail inside the loop. Now the weight is supported by the nail with virtually no chance of failure..

It broke!
I get my plant in it and go to carry it to where I was going to hang it and the plastic clips holding the cords the planter is hung by, broke. Now I cannot hang it up. So be aware that it's held together by plastic clips and a heavy plant it will not hold.

Design has Changed
I just bought one of these planters to test it out and noticed that one thing has been changed in the design. The little plastic part that attaches the pot to a chain is now a round piece of metal - similar to a key chain. This simple little change may make this planter almost perfect. Amazon needs to change their picture to reflect the change.

Nicely done
Well designed and manufactured in Canada. The self watering system seems to work, but the plant is not thriving. However, that could be because it was failing in the old pot which was too small.
