Fixings for mounting on a solid surface are supplied, but if you plan to mount to plaster or another non-solid surface you may need a different mounting kit. cETLus (Class 1) certified the Ascoli has been designed to be fitted onto a 4in. standard octagon box and is for use when mounted on a wall or a ceiling. The Ascoli requires 4 x 6W Max LED GU10 bulb (max length 2.24"), which you will need to purchase separately. Made from aluminum which is 100% recyclable the Ascoli is a high quality, robust and durable product supplied with Astro's 3 year guarantee. The Ascoli delivers focused light perfect in kitchens or hallways and can be dimmed when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb. This spotlight tilts up to 90° and rotates up to 330°, allowing you to position the light exactly where it's needed. Well made & sturdy, could be easier to install however

The light is well made and very sturdy. It is clear it will last a lifetime. My only complaint is that the mounting bracket could be a bit more versatile, allowing for a wider range of mounting situations. That said, I was able to install it and the end result is wonderful.

looks great. Great lighting

Likes: looks really nice. Has enough lighting depending on bulb. Dislikes: you better have a magnetic screw driver when installing bulbs. Screws are super small and can’t be handled by fingers. I dropped 1 screw on a hardwood floor and it took me 20 minutes to find it. Not good! Also very expensive for type of material and the amount of material. Should have had a $50 price tag to be fair.

Minimalism at it’s best

Quality is top notch. Swivel for each can is nearly a complete 360. Flat white paint goes with most wall surfaces. Installation was average but the simplicity of the mounting hardware is appreciated. These should last the life of the home in durability and design.

I bought these to spotlight three large decor items. The range of the lighting and the ability to pivot the lights is wonderful!

Buyer Beware

This is a beautiful light fixture BUT 1) it is overpriced, 2) you have to buy special light bulbs (which are not included), and 3) the required GU10 Bi-Pin Base bulbs are INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO INSTALL. THIS IS CEILING FIXTURE! Trying to fit the bulbs in (which also require twisting to secure) while standing on a ladder, looking up at the ceiling? Really? So much for inventing a better light bulb. Go back to the drawing board and figure out an easier way to install the light bulbs or find different bulbs that are easier to install without having to engage in physical contortions!

Avoid a costly mistake

Specs don’t detail swivel range well enough. Missed the narrow return window. Expensive mistake. Some things should not be purchased online. This is one of them.

They had me at: “Designed in Britain…”

…because you know those Brits, when it comes to light, they invented the stuff! Not only that, but they also showed us how to turn a small 20 minute project with $15 of supplies from Home Depot and turn it into a $163 product by taking basically two empty coffee cans, a couple lightbulbs, a 2 X 4, a power cord, a can of brown spray paint…throw it all together, spray paint it brown, market it with some alluring copy similar to this: “crafted simplicity with a touch of elegance - lighting at its finest”, followed up with a clever 25 word self serving bio of the designers that makes them seem like they have God mowing their lawn and praying to them to allow him the honor to kneel before them and beg them for permission to mow again the next week. And finally, after everything is packaged up, slap a $163 price tag on it and start getting ready for an early retirement as that profit rolls in.
