Great vacuum! Can't give it 5 stars because it doesn't stand up on its own
Exactly what I was looking for! No tubes to get clogged and the canister is very simple and easy to empty! I love this vacuum! I just can't give it 5 stars because it doesn't stand on its own. That is really annoying because it makes it fall easily if you need to stop to move a chair or something. I'm nervous it will break. Otherwise it is amazing!

BETTER THAN MY DYSON!!
We have 2 dogs that shed VERY much & with me bring OCD about dog hair flooding my house, I have purchased numerous different vaccums over the last few years, including Dyson, Shark & a few other name brands. So when I was looking to purchase a new one, I spent hours looking at reviews for this one & I am SO glad I went with it! I swear it works better than all my previous vaccums including my Dyson that I spent over $500 on & it didn't even last 2 years & I didn't want to pay that kind of money again... PLUS... the suction on this one is incredible!!! I usually vaccum 1-2 times a week, so you'd think there wouldn't be so much damn dog hair!! I was mind blown with this vaccums capabilities & let me tell you... I was shook when I vacuumed only one floor of my 3 story home!! The pictures I've posted are literally after I had just vacuumed a few days prior with my Shark pet hair vaccum... pictures are worth 1000 words! So get one!! Oh & let me mention the warranty & customer service!! I originally bought my vaccum about 6 months ago & registered the warranty online & about 2 weeks ago, one of the parts on the roller broke & the company immediately sent a replacement that arrived 2 days later!!

Great for picking up pet hair
This portable vacuum roller unit works great at getting up pet hair from carpets and furniture. The brush attachment works on some surfaces but doesn't seem to get pet hair up easily.

Great vacuum
It’s a bit top-heavy, which I don’t mind so much but I can see how some people might not like that because when you’re vacuuming for a while, or you start feeling a bit tired, it can feel like it’s a bit too heavy. aside from that however, it cleans very well, and the brush really is tangle free when it comes to picking up hair. :-) it’s easy to move around and it’s actually a pretty quiet vacuum. And I’ve only tried the main brush and the crevice tool, and both of them work very nicely. I will say that the fresh roll does squeak just a tiny bit when vacuuming area rugs but it’s not anything alarming and it doesn’t do it all the time.

Great for Quick Clean Ups
Love the anti hair catching roller. The weight of the vacuum is great. Great suction power. For the not so great: not east to take power head/ nozzle off to do edges of room. Would also like to see some sort of light on the power nozzle. My last vacuum, not a Bissel, had an awesome headlight on it. Not to impressed with the hanging caddy or the tools, but that may just be my preference.

REPLACEMENT NEEDED
had about a year worked well at first then started making a horrible noise as if it were going to fall apart.

Better than my 6 year stick vacuum
I bought this to replace a 6 year old stick vacuum (bissell's competitor that is named after an ocean predator) that was making me lose my mind. I hated that vacuum more than I hated the brown 1970s 2 piece vacuum with the water bucket. I like this vacuum. It is quieter than my 6 yr old vacuum. It sucks up SO much cat hair and dust that i did not know existed. It sucked up 4 canisters worth of hair, and i had already vacuumed twice before with the other vacuum! I like that my long hair does not instantly tangle in the brush roller. I think the canister is easy to empty, because it is easier to empty than my other vacuum. I like how it empties. It works for me. I like that the head does not lock because my other vacuum head locks and I hate having to step on the head every 30 seconds. I do not mind that it does not stand up on its own. My other vacuum also has to be leaned against a wall. Yes, this vacuum comes with a piece of plastic you screw into the wall. No, i am not doing that because my house is old and i don't have a storage room for my vacuum so it hangs out in the spare bedroom. I like that the head can fit under furniture. It is lightweight. I especially like the brush roller attachment to vacuum furniture. Much easier to use than lifting the entire vacuum onto a couch or chair. I DO NOT like that there are no lights on this vacuum. My other vacuum has LED lights on the head and they illuminate the cat hair on the dark hardwood floor. I DO NOT like that Bissell did not include a bag to store all of the accessories. It would cost Bissell 30 cents more to include a drawstring bag. Now i have to find a bag to put these pieces in. That's it. My only two complaints. No lights, and no bag for the accessories. Oh, and I don't like the green and black coloring. It's too manly and powerful looking for dainty vacuuming.

Brush reliability issues
When it's working, this is a great little stick vacuum. It's not nearly as powerful as our 1980s vintage Kirby, but it's a fraction of the cost of a new one and way lighter. Other family members are willing to haul this thing up and down the stairs, which is totally a win for me. It does very well on pet hair, and a decent job on everything else. You don't have to worry about batteries, and it's far more powerful than a battery vac will be for several years, anyway. That's the good. BUT, I've had the same issue twice now. Bissell has been very good about accepting returns, but the fact that I've had exactly the same issue twice now, and am in the middle of my second return, tells me there is a design issue with the brush roller on this machine. Bissell call it the foot--it's the main attachment you use for cleaning floors. After about a year of use in our case (we only break this thing out every couple of weeks, so YMMV), the brush roller axle comes off-center and the roller itself starts to make contact with the housing. Since it's plastic-on-plastic, it doesn't take long for the heat to build up and pieces to start melting. Soon there's a big gob of oozy plastic gunking up the works and the whole thing is making a bit of a racket. I've never been using it when it happened, so I can't say exactly what it feels like. Using a vacuum isn't rocket science, though, so I can't imagine what we could be doing that's so unique. Definitely a design issue.
