Doesn’t smash properly

So, after watching numerous TikTok’s my family and I decided to finally get a burger press. Well, we purchased this one and it is not the burger press we expected. It isn’t flat all the way around. So, when you go to mash the burger it doesn’t mash properly because of the half of an inch indention all the way around it. Look at the pics closely before purchasing

Very weak soldering

The weight functions as I need it to but it fell one time and the handle snapped off. Luckily my step dad could weld it back together but other people won't be as fortunate

Arrive broken, spot welds shoddy.

Broken on arrival, spot welds failed prior to even being used! Amazingly, the metal burger press arrived damaged but the packaging was pristine, without so much as a dent in the cardboard! The handle is secured in the metal press cutout by two, small spot welds on each end (the red dots on the photo indicates these spot weld locations). Mine arrived with all four spot welds failed (both sides of the handle), and the handle completely detached. Pretty low quality work. Blackstone should be careful what they put their name on. My griddle is great, and they have a good brand. Products like this erode that perception. I haven't decided if I will return the item, or simply have it welded at a local fabricator, because I do think I will like the depth of this burger press (and a replacement press might have functional spot welds, but it still looks like it would fail over time) and the fact that it may be easier to maintain than cast iron. This was a disappointing purchase. Others may have better luck, but I see a photo of others that are failing in the same way, so I don't think it was a case of me just being unlucky. This is clearly not a design that will hold up as well as my cast iron presses, even if the spot welds were done correctly. It is simply a weaker design. Cannot recommend unless you want to either weld or drill and screw a different handle to this burger press.

Smash burger made easy.

Very well built. Had machine shop take off 3/16 of an inch of depth and it became the perfect smash burger ???? tool.
