YOU NEED 0.520" ID VINYL POND TUBING TO CONNECT THESE
HELP ME HELP YOU!!! I don't know why this isn't listed in the product description, but the connector on the ring requires 0.520" inner diameter tubing, which is sold as "1/2" vinyl pond tubing." There are (at least) three different sizes of tubing that are all referred to as "half-inch": 0.520", 0.60", & 0.62" ID. The standard "half-inch" black poly irrigation tubing (e.g. Rain bird) that you'll find in the irrigation aisle at a home improvement store is 0.60" ID/0.70" OD, which will be very loose & will not work. You need 0.520" ID vinyl "pond tubing" to connect to the nipple, which I found in the outdoor/plants section. Search for "DIY Automatic Watering System for Indoor Cannabis" at Cocoforcannabis to find a write up of Hydro Halos and how to set these up. I already had 0.60" poly irrigation tubing in my setup, and I learned that you can connect 0.60" poly tubing to the 0.520" vinyl tubing that the Hydro Halo uses with Rain Bird brown-colored "1/2 in. Barbed Couplings". These couplings are really meant for the 0.60" poly tubing, but if you soak the 0.520" vinyl tubing in boiling water to soften them up, you can, with some effort, fit them on the coupler and thereby connect the two different sizes of tubing. While I've only used them for a few days, the Hydro Halos are working great so far. Just be sure to buy ball valves for each ring you are connecting so meter/equalize the flow of water. 13 mm/0.520" ball valves are the easiest to use, but you can also use 16 mm ball valves if you soak the tubing in boiling water to soften it up, as referenced above. I don't know why this isn't more clearly listed in the product description. I drove myself nuts for two hours trying to figure out why my "half-inch tubing" didn't work. Hope this helps someone out!

1/2 tubing is unnecessarily oversized
This might just be an industry issue but 1/2" tubing is way overkill, could easily get enough flow from 1/4" spaghetti tubing. 1/2" is just not very flexible for compact grows. If you you want to use this product in confined areas with multiple plants, get some high quality tubing and a lot of fittings.

Inconsistent hole sizes and pattern
Bought 3 of these for my plants. When comparing all 3 against each other, the holes on each were very inconsistent and poorly drilled. The holes were not evenly sized or in uniform rows. This could prevent water from flowing evenly. Ultimately, they will do the job but if I were to do this again, I’d go with another product that has a better focus on quality and consistency.

Garden Tower 'Halo'
Perfect watering solution for my Garden Tower! (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HXPPQO4/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_SPNJX6KPSMT2B8FCQ83X?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 ) It is great for a semi-permanent automated watering system for many types of plants, but was a perfect solution for my needs to have automatic watering on my favorite part of my garden. My Garden Tower 2. (No, this is not an ad and I am not an employee of The Garden Tower Project, I am honestly sharing a great product and a watering system for it.) The Hydro Halo provides a ring of 'raining' water - right where you need it... just outside of the primary stem and in the 'drip' zone, the area of the plant's main feeding roots. When attached to a water source with a valve you can adjust the pressure to control the exact watering requirements for the plant or plants as is the case when used on a Garden Tower. The plants have never been happier.

Perfect for medium sized plants
Love these! I bought five, one for each of my rhododendrons. It gets hot and dry here in August and they wilt. This year I installed a timed drip system, and these serve up the right amount of water: Not too fast to be harsh and not to slow to be a drip.

They work well, and as expected for my setup.
They work well, I fitted mine without the spikes, hot glued on top of 6" Net cup lids in a 5 gallon pail setup (4 of them), so they sit flush. They water right on the outside of the medium (soil) and they are on a ART DNE type timer system with drains. Five gallon pails because it makes for more room and time if things go wrong. For me they perform their task well as I live alone and am away driving a Big truck for 8-12 days at a time. Beats a plant sitter. These things allow me to just come home and prune, tweak and fuss and let me enjoy the Berries, Green Onions and what ever else I have going on. The Garlic doesn't need them, they are a lot slower and are on their own in self contained pails, no flood and drain, just single pails in a DWC. All of this inside the house for all the same reasons. Different drain rates for those Greens that need it and I'm rolling! The rings are convenient and feel good and sturdy, we'll see how they do in a while, sofar one trip and home without problems. I'd recommend them even just because they work good. Hope that helps.

Crazy expensive but they work.
Functionally they are 5 stars. They work great but $10 a piece is robbery.

Works well but..
If you are using it as more of a drip I figured out it has to be level. Otherwise the water won't come out equally. Seems to work better when higher pressure.

Works as you'd expect
Item is exactly what I was hoping and worked perfectly. I was only using RO water so there wasn't any chance of getting plugged but I could see if you were running nutrients some of the holes could get plugged. Regardless, what I needed it provided and saved the day for me so I'm very happy. Side note: if I were to buy these in bulk for a large grow, I'd be expecting to pay 5-7 bucks, not 20. But I only needed one so had to absorb the cost. Not a big deal.

Way overpriced
They work, but the holes are poorly done about half of mine arent big enough to push any water out. Also the connector isn't exactly 1/2" in size either. Had to purchase new tubing. You would think for the price of these quality control would be a bit better.

Evaluation of products received
Didn't explain the size of the water inlet pipe. It was found to be 1/2 '' after receiving the goods. Not the size I want. Water outlets vary in size

Good but holes can block sometimes .
I should have bought in my local store as they are slightly cheaper. The holes are very small and can get blocked easily but it’s also easy to unblock them.

Not what I expected
Possibly my error as I thought this was brass or metal and could use with a garden hose.
