Add one rounded teaspoon or one Bodum scoop of coarsely ground coffee for each cup/4oz water. 3. Pour hot water into the carafe (about 92-96ºC) leaving a minimum of 2.5cm/1inch at the top, and stir with a plastic or wooden spoon. 4. Place the plunger unit on top of the pot and turn the lid so the pour spout is closed to retain the heat. 5. Leave four minutes to brew, then slowly lower the plunger. Turn the lid to open the pour spout and pour your delicious cup of joe. 6. Wash in warm, soapy water before first use and dry thoroughly. All parts are dishwasher safe. *All of our coffee and tea makers are measured in European cup sizes: 1 Cup = about 4oz."

34 Oz. Capacity. The stainless steel plunger prevents coffee grounds escaping when the coffee is poured. Transparent carafe makes the whole brewing process visible. The carafe is made of shatterproof BPA Free SAN Plastic - that doesn’t alter or impair the coffee’s natural flavor – is framed in BPA plastic. Our iconic brewing system quickly and effectively brings out the full flavor of coarsely ground beans, producing delicious coffee every time. Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted.

Say Goodbye to Broken Glass with Bodum Java French Press !
home. The Bodum Java French Press Coffee Maker has been a great addition to my coffee routine. As someone who has had bad luck with glass French presses breaking, the plastic cup is a welcome feature. I appreciate that it is durable and won't shatter if accidentally knocked over. However, like other reviewers have noted, the filter is not perfect and some coffee grounds do end up in the cup. But using a coarse grind and being careful when pouring can minimize this issue. I have also found that using a smoother filter from another French press can improve the overall performance of the Bodum Java. Overall, I think the Bodum Java French Press Coffee Maker is a solid choice for anyone looking for a durable and reliable option for their morning coffee routine. While it may not be perfect, with a little bit of care and attention, you can enjoy a delicious and fresh cup of coffee every morning.

Shatterproof, but crazed, dripping (but still useable) after less than a year
Edit update: partner didn't want me to get another glass carafe, so I have kept using this one while waiting for a replacement. And I'm raising my rating to 4 stars because as long as I fill it and pour it out over the sink, the leak is slow enough to not matter. And I don't let coffee sit in the grounds for more than 30 seconds anyway, as my doc said that will reduce the oxalates and help me avoid future kidney stones. I really like that the filter has a silicone rubber gasket and rinses easily. And I like that the carafe won't break into dangerous pieces on the floor, some to be found much later by bare feet. What I don't like is that after 10 months of daily (occasionally twice-daily) use, there are increasingly more drips of coffee on the counter under the carafe after pressing and pouring. I thought I was letting drips out but finally traced them to a long crack in the side of the carafe. Too bad, I guess I'll get another GROSCHE glass beaker to use with the old metal parts from the previous Bodum

Finally got one that won’t break so easily!
I missed my french pressed coffee so much, but they kept getting broken, way too soon after getting a new one. Had no idea these were a thing, I wish I would have gotten this one first over all the glass ones! Though I seen a lot of reviews saying it leaves some coffee grinds behind, I don’t think everyone knows that you should use coarse ground coffee and it solves this problem. I also hand-grind my own so it isn’t as bitter. No one deserves coffee grounds in your coffee!

I'm satisfied for now
I've only had this French press for about two weeks. I has been very serviceable up to now. I'm happy with this French Press, by I don't know how long it will last. The previous one was glass and I broke it. I had a plastic one and it lasted five years. I hope this one will last that long.

Durable, not a perfect cup of coffee
I’ve had this plastic French press for less than 2 months. I can attest to the fact it’s definitely more durable than the glass version - it made contact with a kitchen wing wall and survived - but I now have dreaded coffee grounds in my finished cup. Bottom line, the benefit of durability, but the real possibility it won’t make a perfect cup, definitely a compromise

It’s okay
Glass will easily fall out and the coffee grounds do come up. The filter isn’t the greatest but works. Just watch out for all the coffee grounds. We got another one that works better.

Plastic, not glass!
Just be aware, the cup is plastic, not glass. I tried to change the plastic cup to glass cup left. They have different diameters. I ended up using the lid from the newly purchased press for the old press I had.

Don’t get the cheap version
My wife bought be the exact same French press in the glass/metal version. While cleaning I accidentally broke the glass and ordered this version as a replacement. While it’s made by the same manufacturer and looks identical to the glass/metal model, this plastic version stinks. The seal for the filter allows grains to escape easily and get in your drinkable coffee. Pay a little more for the all metal/glass version and save a lot of frustration.

Excelente prensa.
