Vitamins are compounds required in minute concentrations for vital metabolic reactions; the amounts of vitamins required for a given species varies. Short-term vitamin deficiencies can typically be tolerated by most organisms, however long-term deficiencies tend to result in abnormalities, poor health, and eventually even death of the specimen. Conversely, if severely overdosed, ingested vitamins can have a negative impact on a specimen by way of toxicity, though the impact is unlikely to be permanent. Decreasing the vitamin dosage typically results in full recovery of the affected specimen. For these reasons, it is recommended that Vitamarin-M be utilized either as a means of delivering vitamins to aquarium inhabitants through food or by direct addition to the water, but not both. All Brightwell Aquatics liquid water care supplements are made with purified water and high purity materials. We develop formulae for aquaria based on empirical data, using observation and measurement rather than theory. Vitamarin-M does not require refrigeration, however storage in a cool, shaded area will prolong the activity of the vitamins. Refrigeration will maximize the shelf-life of the product.

Mind officially blown!
After a 3 day power outage I was struggling to get my Nitrates back down in a 20 gallon shrimp/ nano fish planted tank. I try to keep it under 10ppm for the shrimp and leave enough for the plants. I don't do big water changes because of the shrimp. I tend to do about 10% every couple days. My nitrates where set stubbornly at 20 and I was losing a shrimp every few days. I was skeptical about this so I put a little tank water (Orange water. Tested at 20ppm with the API master kit.) in a container and added some of this product to it in a fine filter media bag. I gave it a good swooshing and let it sit for about an hour while I cleaned my tank. I tested it and it read 0ppm!!! (Yellow) HOW DOES EVERYONE NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS? Obviously water changes are still important to keep a balance of minerals and healthy livestock but in a pinch or when you have a species sensitive to large water changes, this is a little miracle product. I tested my water before adding it directly to the tank and after and all perameters were the same accept the Nitrates where gone and my KH was a tad lower but that could be the tannins working away as they usually do. I used about a cup of this stuff (way too much I think) in my hamg on the back and my Nitrates where down to under 5ppm in three hours. It actually works a little too good for me to leave it in all the time. Don't think my plants would appreciate the competition. Use this stuff thoughtfully and your on to a winner.

This stuff is the real deal
I make it into 1/4 cup balls in panty hose and put it in my HOB filters. You'll need to experiment to see how much you need in your tank. But my 29 gallon tank with two fancy goldfish is kept under 5ppm nitrate with 1/2 cup per week. It recharges using lots of cheap table salt. Be sure to follow the instructions precisely--it's not just about salt concentration, but the absolute amount of salt. but it's painless to recharge and works essentially indefinitely. Highly recommended. I don't know why it's not more universally used, especially in tanks where high nitrates are a common problem (like goldfish).

Nitrates, nitrates, nitrates
Every 4 days. At least once a month l’ll do a 25% water change. Any other time I use Nitrate-R. Need a reactor to use and your set. Freshwater and saltwater safe

If it seems like it’s not working do the following.
Take 500 ml bottle and put 250 ml water with 6 table spoon salt. Soak the 500 ml beads for 1 day.

Nope
Its great at first. Then it says reactivate in table salt. But after it dose nothing. It actually made the nitrates go up. Dont recommend.

It didn't work -- even a little bit!!
I bought this product because I had consistently high nitrates (40-50) with good phos levels in a mixed reef aquarium alongside poor coral growth/coloration and all other parameters checked out (verified with Triton mail in kit). I put in the 500mL resin product in a filter bag in my sump in a relatively high flow area. Over the next 3 weeks the lowest I got the nitrate (alongsisde protein skimming and dosing NoPox by RedSea) was 36! So it just...doesnt....work sadly. Anyone have any ideas how to help lower my nitrates?
