Attractive Bathroom Grab Bar

Bought this grab bar for use in the shower to replace an older version of a grab bar. It is very attractive and looks like it's actually made of chrome. It stays securely in place but not for an extended period of time. My main concern is that even though it has the visual indicator that turns to dark green when the bar is securely in place, on more than one occasion the grab bar has come loose on one end so that it slides up and down on the wall, but the indicator still shows green as though it was in a secure state. For some reason, I thought that anytime the grab bar became loose that the indicator(s) would change to the red to indicate an unsafe status, but that is not how it performs. Otherwise, I like the product and will just reapply it when it becomes loose from the wall.

Doesn't stick to non-porus porcelain

Falls off in less than 48 hours. I have 16" non-porus porcelain tiles and it'll work for a shower but only to balance yourself. I wished they'd tell you that it doesn't work on porcelain no matter how smooth, unless it has a gloss to it. Even then it isn't made to pull yourself up off the bench, being I'm missing my right foot that be nice, but if was sticking to a glossy surface it would work using it along with my left leg. Everything depends on all the different situations.

Works great most of the time

I had a problem with this when I first got it. It kept falling off. Recently I read that if you clean the spots where the suction cups go with alcohol, it will hold better. I did that and now it seems to be holding well. It is just for stability and not used to help me get up or down. I like to have something to hold onto when I close my eyes in the shower when I wash my hair. This does the job.

workmanship

i purchased two of these. neither one would stay attached to surface after awhile it would come loose and fall. tried to return first one because of this gave me credit , so ordered another same thing. i purchased this for my 95 year father in law who was living with us would have stability while bathing. not up to my expectations

Have to reset it before each shower.

Got this for my husband who just had total knee replacement. We had another brand but only had one, gave one to our daughter. So, got this to go with it. I have to reset it each time he showers since it falls off the wall on it's own sometimes. It holds great when I put it on, but if he goes a day without showering it falls off. The old one, has stayed on for 2 weeks so far. I like the new one, just have to be careful and make sure I reattach it before each shower.

Stays in place

Very strong suction. It stays where you place it. Make sure the shower/bath wall is clean before installing and clean the suction cups beforehand.

Very important to read the instructions about the green and red indicator

I have one of those heavy plastic shower stalls in my master bathroom. There are shelves in the stall but no security bar feature. As I age, I like the security of having this bar to grab as I'm turning in the shower and for stability when I need it. It's essential to read the instructions for proper usage of this bar. There are two indicators on it which begin as red and as you press the suction cups against the wall they begin to turn dark green. Then you press the closure down tight and both of those lights should be green. If there is any red showing, it's not safely on the wall. You start over and press it again until there is absolutely no red showing. Then it's safe for use. But the manufacturer warns you not to use the bar for lifting yourself in or out of a tub. This is simply a security bar to grab on to prevent slipping. It may not hold your weight if you pull on it too hard. And you should check every time you get in the shower to make sure you don't see any red. Just remove it and replace it until you see all green. It sounds more complicated than it is really. I thought it was a great thing to have in my shower and it looks good too. April 14, 2022: I just bought another one of these for another bathroom with a tub. Loved the first one so much that I didn't hesitate to get another when it was needed. Dec, 2022- Just bought another one as the red/green indicator stopped working on one of the sides of the bar first bar I bought. It still stuck perfectly, but in the interest of preventing an accident, I bought another and changed it. I still think it is a great thing to have in my shower stall.

A very unhappy customer ????

After having this product in my bathroom for less then a month in my brand new re done bathroom yesterday in the shower I noticed something yellowish orange dripping out on the suction cups and was staining my brand new ceramic walls. It was rust! As soon as i loosened the suctions yellowish orange water started to pour out of the hand grip. The screws that were used on the inside all rusted and ruined my bathroom! I do not suggest buying this product!

It looks great!

So my mum is starting to need some assistance in the bathroom but too proud to start installing “assistance device’s”. I think many know what I mean. After a good search I landed on this and grabbed it (no pun intended) I installed it without saying anything and her first mention of it was how nice it looked with the stainless steel fixtures. I followed directions to a T and had a seamless sturdy attachment the first time. It’s been up for a bit now and we’re all feeling a bit safer. The pictures are so gross I know I need to redo that grout and caulking at the tub seams it’s a project on the back burner. But look how nice our grab bar is eh?

Perfect and tightly sucked to the shower wall

Since my 87 yrs old mom having difficulty to go over and in the shower tub, I have been making her using the small walking shower while we going to renovate the shower tub into walk in shower, and it has no handle for her to hold on now that she can't shower by herself and she needs help. This bar is perfect, tightly hold onto he wall with the dual locking sucking cups, perfect length too. It can be placed horizontal or vertical, but I prefer it slanted. This is a very good product indeed for a good price!

Affordable Safety Product

My wife actually installed this to assist her getting in and out of the tub after having hip replacement surgery. This is a must have addition for everyone after many surgery as well as our aging population. Very affordable investment in providing the necessary safety features at a modest investment. I highly recommend this addition to you bath tub.
