See your World in a Whole New Way The MicroFlip is Carson's most powerful pocket microscope yet, with a magnification range of an impressive 100x – 250x. The precision molded aspheric lens system ensures sharp, clear, distortion-free viewing, allowing you to see a variety of incredible details. The MicroFlip uses a bright LED light to illuminate your subjects and also has a built-in UV LED flashlight feature to aid in inspection. The MicroFlip's innovative slide base flips down to hold your slides in place (we include one blank slide and cover slip to get you started), and then flips back up when using the microscope on objects out in the field. Its lightweight build, ergonomic shape, and thin wrist-strap make it easy to take along with you anywhere you go. The MicroFlip is a great microscope for both beginners and more advanced users alike, as it offers a higher magnification range, but is simple and easy to use. One of the most exciting features of the Micro flip is the included smartphone digiscoping clip that attaches the microscope to your phone camera, so you can document all of your findings and share them with colleagues, friends, and family. The clip is compatible with most smart phone models, including iphone, Samsung, LG, HTC, and more (thicker cases like Otterbox style cases may need to be removed before attaching the digiscoping clip). The MicroFlip is powered by one AA battery (not included), and includes a starter slide with cover slip and an attachable wrist strap. Carson. /strong> The MicroBrite Plus is backed by Carson. Carson will repair or replace your pocket microscope if it is found to have manufacturing defects in the materials or workmanship. Please note that due to the extremely powerful magnification of this pocket microscope that the focal distance is very short. Therefore, you must hold the microscope directly over your subject for optimal viewing clarity. Begin at the lowest magnification (100x) and adjust the focus until you have a clear view, then increase your magnification to your desired level.

Scope Great, Slides Not So Much
As someone that did microscopy at various times in both education and in volunteering for a local museum, I have to say I'm impressed at how well this scope performs. For a handheld (and some tabletop ones I've used), this actually is a really good and clear scope! The UV part only activates as you hold its button down, and the regular light is on point for being able to look at slides and other things like paper and carpet fibers and hairs. I highly suggest if you're the type of person that takes walks in their neighborhood that includes curiosity of your surroundings, this would be a valuable tool to look at leaves and such up close. A worthwhile investment. The slides suck. Sure, you can see stuff because the scope is good, but there are so many bubbles in the production of these slides even I don't always know what I'm looking at without a label. Too cheaply made, especially for a layman that doesn't do microscopy a lot and won't necessarily know a bubble from an actual structure that's the subject of the slide. I'd just buy the scope.

Very impressive pocket size microscope!
Firstly, I'd like to mention when I received my order yesterday that the one I got was used and missing the clip. I submitted my request for a replacement and let me say, in just under 24 hours later, I already got a new replacement. I have NEVER experienced such rapid and hassle free service. Amazon amazes me more every day! And so on with the product. I am definitely giving this a 100% positive review. When I saw it on Amazon, I thought it would be something my grandson would like. After looking at others, this one seemed the best for the price. I had a such a hard time putting it down, I spent hours using it this morning!! The microscope is built sturdy, slim enough for your pocket, purse, or hand, big or small. The functions are all easy to use. And when I used it on my phone, I was even more impressed. I have not tried the slide yet, but I can only guess based on what short time I have played around with it, that will be a favorable feature as well. As for the price, I did get it on sale, but I believe even full price it is worth it. So much that I will be keeping this one and not only ordering another for my grandson, but also for my high school aged son and my husband, who both want one too!

Great for the price...
Not sure how anyone could rate this poorly for the price. You simply will not find a better microscope for this price. It has a few puzzling design choices. Folding down the slide holder quite literally makes using the UV light impossible to use (turns it off) and switches to a secondary LED light which may or may not be useful. Why not provide the user the ability to choose their own light source instead if forcing it automatically? Eventually I'll modify it so I can use the light source I prefer. It's always confusing when obvious design time was devoted to making a product "less useful", but here we are. Be very careful if choosing to use phone clip. It does NOT thread onto microscope and basically only very barely holds it in place. I can easily see a child breaking their expensive phone trying to use a clip that surely won't support the weight of a phone. I would suggest taking the time to build a support for the phone at en equal height of the microscope before attempting to use. Working around these quirks keaves you with a very impressive magnification level for $20 and surely lots of good fun. The fact that they use a very common AA size battery is a great design choice. Previous pocket scopes I've owned used tiny watch betteries which is a major hassle...so the design team did great here.

Good but needs steady hand
May be difficult to find focus with multiple zoom cameras. Clip moves, so need steady hand

Not as expected
I purchased this to replace a very old one we've used for years. My hubby uses the old one for coin collecting while I use it to diagnose pest on houseplants. It is almost impossible to use on anything that isn't flat, the magnifying quality is too strong for our use as it's way too intense. The camera screen feature isn't useful for all these reasons as well.

Five Stars All The Way
This microscope is cheap, effective and it’s a good bargain. If you wanna buy a microscope just for exploration and biology buy this one sure there are other microscopes maybe better than this one but this microscope is small, pocket sized, effective, portable, has UV light and LED light and it can see opaque objects which most microscopes CANNOT! Just wanna say if you want a portable, cool, tiny, portable and adorable microscope this one if for you.

Great size and sealed well
I like how it came with a few pieces. Works well, though adjusting it is extremely finicky compared to a few other hand microscopes I have. Though it does the job and I'm glad it has a sliding small shelf for the slides to sit on. I'd say it's worth it for the money. It's not too thick and tall. So it easily fits in my hand, having it taller saves my neck from feeling as sore which is nice. Confused how the parcel itself had chew marks on it and had coffee grounds inside or strong smelling dirt. Unless something got in there during delivery? But the microscope itself inside was sealed well. No marks on it at all thankfully.

Surprisingly easy to use, and greater than expected results!
My kids and I have had so much fun with this. It fits easily in one hand and can be operated well enough with one hand. That helps if you use the phone clip, so you can balance your phone. Also, I do recommend attaching your phone as its makes viewing so much easier and for everyone to share in the experience. Picture 1: a leaf from inside our house Picture 2: a piece of coloured, patterned paper Great value, I've definitely spent more on worse. This is less expensive, more compact and easier to use that other children's microscopes we've purchased. Highly recommend!

Not very useful
If you need to examine samples on a stage/slides under 100x - then it can be an ok tool for that. In this regard it can be better than a cheap kids microscope, while also being very compact. The higher magnification is not clear enough to be useful. It includes special retractable stage that makes the illumination similar to what you usually get with a regular bright field compound microscope, and this is actually a nice feature, if that's what you need it for. This microscope has an inverted image, very very short focus distance and DOF, and is not practical to use with anything that is not slide. For that you will get much better results even with a cheap low resolution USB microscope.

Fantastic!
It’s very good for the price and way better than any other digital microscope with poor sensors. I took pictures of hair (250x) and frog blood Cells (250x) with iphone. The thickness of hair may be 50 micron - 100 micron and the result on the picture is quite good as much as I could see some damages on the hair. Price is for toy microscope but the result is impressive.

An amazing portable microscope
This is a great microscope for its price. I was not expecting much for the phone clip, but it was totally worth it. Now I can send closeups of random stuff to my friends to freak them out! Note that, just like a regular microscope, you need a stable surface to get a good focus. I don't think it can be used while being held in the air like they show in the demo video. For that, you should probably go for a lower magnification. Pictures are a red chili flake (100x) and a peach (250x). Overall, very happy with the purchase!
