Good for small humidors. Takes time to work.
I recently received a small humidor (25-50 cigars) as a gift. The humidor came with it's own small humidifier that required a water/propylene glycol solution to be used but I was told by a few other people that I should look at crystal gels instead of getting the solution. I ordered this product and have been using it for about a week now. I think there are a few things that are important to note about the product: 1. When the item arrives it doesn't come with paper instructions. Instead very simple instructions are printed on the container itself. Not a huge issue for me considering that getting the item to work is extremely simple 2. It doesn't look like the photo because the photo shown on Amazon is when the crystals have expanded when in contact with water. When the item arrives, it is filled with extremely small beads that will substantially expand. 3. It takes a lot of time for this product to work...or at least it did for me. I put water in to the fill line and waited. After a day the humidity in my humidor hadn't changed at all. I put a shot glass filled with distilled water into the humidor to try to help the process along but after another day the dial hadn't moved. I then proceeded to pour more water into the gel to the point where the gels had expanded almost to the top of the container (and above the "full line" shown on the container). I then waited a few more days and finally noticed that the dial was moving. It took until yesterday morning for the humidor to final hit the "Ideal" zone. I started the process last Saturday morning so it took almost an entire week for it to work. I'm not sure if that is normal but I thought the process would be quicker given that my humidor is rather small. That's the main reason why I give the product 4 instead of 5 stars. Overall I think this a good product and it is easy to use. I also think in the long term it will be cheaper than using the original humidifier that needed the water/propylene glycol solution. That being said the biggest drawback for me is the time it takes for the product to work. I would be a little hesitant to get just one of these containers if I had a larger humidor but once you hit the required humidity I think it is rather easy to keep it there with this item.

I am decidedly mixed on this product
I had three level humidor with about 60 cigars in it and bought this to replace my Oasis XL that had died. This product claims it regulates humidity up to 150 cigars so it should have been sufficient. I followed the instructions on using distilled water and filled it to the line. Two weeks in my humidor was at 50 percent solid. I added more water. Nothing. Wondering if I had developed a leak in the last couple days, I put a little dish of distilled water in the bottom of the humidor and it went up to 58. Then I switched out the humidor and went with a smaller single level box style. 60 percent solid. The jar comes with this annoying grate at the top with holes in it that water drips down through. I took the grate off. Now it fluctuates between 67 and 68 percent which is not where I want it nor where advertising says it is suppose to be. If I intentionally over fill it then it will stay at 70 for a couple weeks before again dropping to 67 - 68. I'm down to around 10 cigars in the humidor right now. When I stock back up I'll probably ditch this product for something else.

WoW people... Really ?!?
Hopefully this will be the review to end all reviews on this subject Lots of bad reviews on this product for - Small amount of crystals - No instructions - Puttin out less than 70% Relative Humidity - Probaly 10 others we can easily clear up here See 1st enclosed pic. Small amount of crystals right ? Well, the crystals expand to over 100x, so that'll lead to See 2nd enclosed pic. When the instructions (on the back of the jar by the way) are actually followed, as in fill to the line with DISTILLED WATER, then it comes out perfect. When you feel like being cute and fill past the line, well then those tiny little 15-20 crystals will look like the right jar on the 3rd pic. Not puttin out 70% Relative Humidity complaint... Well once again, those pesky instructions. Instructions clearly say add DISTILLED WATER, not P&G. If the manufacturer has already pre-charged the crystals with P&G, and of course you're smarter than they are and add your own P&G, well then, that'll drop the RH. I've purchased Four of the 4oz jars and Three of the 2oz jars, all work excellent. Hopefully this has been informative.

the crystals looked like a few grains of salt and thought there would ...
When I first got the package I was extremely skeptical, the crystals looked like a few grains of salt and thought there would be no way it would look like the picture. Added the liquid solution and after a few hours, there wasn't one drop of liquid left in the jar and the crystals have grown from the size of a grain of salt to a large ball bearing size... Time will tell how it works in my humidor, but I'm sure it will work great. Note to the manufacture - Seems like every complaint is about the amount of crystals you get and when shipped, it looks almost impossible to look like the picture. If were the manufacture, I'd find a why to ensure people when they receive the package it will work. Maybe actually ship with the crystals pre-charged, so they already look the way they should.

Perfect Simple Humidification System for Stogies
I have a small humidor at home that I keep a modest amount of cigars in, usually no more than 10 at a time. This thing works wonders on keeping the cigars in perfect shape. The simple directions are printed right on the side of the container. Basically just add distilled water, set aside for a few hours and then when the water is completely absorbed put it your humidor. Once the beads start to shrink past the fill line, repeat. This kept my humidor right around 70% and my cigars were in perfect condition.

Works well and holds humidity at proper level
Although the item arrived without any moisture in it, all you have to do is add distilled water to the level line and you'll be good to go. I've had it for about 2 months so far and I've only had to refill the water twice. It keeps my cigars at the proper humidification without needing to check it all the time. I check mine once every two weeks just in case. Loses a star for not arriving pre-charged and ready to go (as advertised).

Perfect humidity control for your cigars
Although it looks like there's too little crystals in its dry form, the moment you add distilled water, the crystals will expand and fill the whole jar. These crystals provide the perfect humidity control for your cigars with minimal maintenance; just fill with distilled water and forget it for a couple of months. I love the fact that the jar is transparent so I know when the crystals are due to be replenished with water. For me, I ended up using two of these jars for a 150-200 count humidor and they give perfect results. One of the jars suffered a crack along the side of the jar during shipping but thankfully it was only a surface crack and the jar continued to hold water without any leaks. Overall, these humidor crystals are more user-friendly than just using humidor aqua foam or mixing propylene glycol solutions for your humidor.

I'ts good
I have better result for humidity control with distilled water (68/ 69 %) than humidor solution (63%) The product is good, don't blame the product if you use cheap humidor solution

Its an ok product
This didn't work as well as I expected, its difficult to get the distilled water into the container due to the size of the holes. It also isn't humidifying as much as I would have liked. I still have to add a Boveda pack to the humidor to get it to 69% humidity.

Convenient way to proper humidity
This could be the saviour I was looking for. I have been desperate because of the dry climate one of my humidors is subjected to. Looks like it will boost my humidity level to save my stock. Will buy for 2nd humidor at house on west coast.
