Grade C-Minus! or MyScotchBriteBrilopad WorkedBetter ButSee OurReviewofCLR CalciumLimeRust remover
Our review of CLR Calcium Lime rust removal cleaner. We all know that we Swedish love stainless cookware! But everyone also knows that overtime your stainless cookware gets those odd heat spots on the bottom of the pan that for some reason take forever to scrub off the bottom although the inside and sides do scrub clean most of the time. I have been going back and forth with possibly buying a set of copper-bottom stainless cookware, but am still debating on whether or not it will make that much difference overtime with the heat spots/heat darkening of the bottom of the pan being typical of longTerm use, but removable with a little elbow grease although as stated, the inside and sides will scrub clean most of the time. I decided to try CLR to see if it works as well as the commercial says in practically everything. For our purposes I limited this to stainless cookware only (I didn’t try it in the bathroom-the Fantastik has been working awesome on it’s own there or layered under scrubbing bubbles for extra shine) To be clear I decided to try it like the commercial(you know the one where they put a drop of the CLR on the pots and wipe with a soft sponge and everything shines and looks like new) Our reasoning is that while although it/CLR is advertised mostly for bathroom type use, it does indicate STAINLESS and in the commercials they clean a shower-faucet head with NOscrubbing whatsoever I carefully applied a soapy layer of CLR to freshly washed pots and pans, scrubbed well until the CLR was lightly soapy and let it sit for about 20minutes before scrubbing off with antibacterial dishwashing liquid and a scotchBrite stainless scouring brilo. Then rinse with plain clean water to really look at it. So CLR does lift some (and that is with lots and lots of scrubbing) of the heat deposits on your stainless pots and pans, but to be more effective we suspect that you might need to carefully soak the bottom of the pans in an inch of the CLR while soaking about a half-inch of the CLR in the inside of the pan to really be effective. When I have more time I will try the soaking method I did find that with just gentle rubbing to vigorous scrubbing it had a noticeable impact on the stains on the bottoms on the pans, but Not nearly to the point of invisibility/like new. I feel like with more time and if I add it to some other element (boiling whiteVinegarapplication, etc) it may be successful in completely cleaning the heat spots from the pans, but that is an update for another time. This is the kind of purchase that you have to do other things with it to get the full potential out of it, so that may make it a no for some buyers we deduct points for difficulty of use and not working as shown on TV, etc (but notably, old fashioned intense scrubbing on it’s own does eventually get the pots and pans clean and spotless/stainfree to almost like new) And the disappointment is that most people will buy this to make cleaning easier, not to use with other products, so it’s a soft maybe not so much as I get better results with my own methods. On the upside the pans are otherwise squeaky clean and the bottoms really do look much better, (I only had one or two that had smoke/heat spots, but they are still salvageable at this point and I will keep at it to see if they will clean up like the other ones and let you all know in the update/s (oh and the bathroom sink looks great) :P.) Grade; C-minus or 2.85Stars!

Love that this comes in a Gallon sized bottle.
I use this stuff a lot. I have a lot of glass bowls that I use for cat water bowls. This stuff cleans the build up out quickly and entirely. I will definitely be purchasing this again and again.

Stain and calcium removal
Been using this product for many years. It cleans rust off concrete, rust stains and calcium buildup from most surfaces. It has always worked well for me.

Great product!
This will be a great product-but, the box was completely damaged, lid off and product leaked everywhere-virtually no packing-it was a mess! I got it on my skin and it burned just trying to get the wet, soaked box open and standing the jug (very heavy) up. Please put these things in lots of good packaging from now on!

Works tremendously
Pros: I used it for my sink facets and shower facets. I haven’t deep cleaned the hard water off of those facets in about 6 years. I tried vinegar and that did not work so I went with CLR. I poured it on the sink facets for about 3-5 minutes and let it sit. Then I used a dry magic eraser to remove the hard water and it worked perfectly. Con: There are not instruction on the bottle to see how long to leave CLR for. I ended up soaking paper towels in the CLR and wrapped them around my shower head and facet. After leaving it on for a few minutes it got some of the hard water but not all. So I decided to leave the soaked paper towels on for 30 minutes. BIG MISTAKE. I have an acrylic tub and there were yellow streaks from the CLR stained on my tub (due to it dripping from the soaked paper towel and shower head). I scrubbed for about an hour and it did not come off. It did get the hard water off the facet and shower head. I ended up having to sand and refinish the tub. Something that’s only suppose to take me minutes, took hours. I can say it’s mostly from my own user error. However, there were no specific instructions on how long you can leave it on something. It was my first time using CLR. I would still use the CLR but I would just be more careful. I recommend leaving it no longer than 3 minutes sitting on any kind of material so it can easily rinse. It is acidic so it can do more harm than good.

expected CLR- Pro as in the order photo..
Product came promptly and in good condition. Nice it is a 3.78 l amount but had expected a Pro type rather than the multi use I can buy at hardware store. I thought would be a stronger formula? But CLR is a product I use and won't be returning, but feel a little mislead.

Ça nettoie la saleté accumulée
Ça ne se fait pas tout seul mais ça nettoie vraiment, on voit couler la crasse; en tout cas, sur les joints de céramique. Merci!
