Keeps you cool, L size works for XS adult women

I am a petite adult (5’2) and I bought this in size large ( the medium was too tight ), I normally wear and XS or 25 in women’s pants. I found the waist too large and so I need to wear this with a belt ( I have a 26 waist) , the hips fits fine (I’m 34). The length is a bit long on me and I shortened them and added elastic to turn them into joggers, which made them wayyyy better looking. I wore it out on a hot day and did not feel hot in them at all, so they really did keep me cool. There is no indication at the pant leg zippers ( as found in other convertible pants ) to tell you which leg is left/right so I used nail polishes and painted the zip tab as color code to help distinguish which leg goes where. Bought this on a good discount so even thought I had to make some alterations, I am very happy with them.

Fits S adult women

The material is the same as women's and men's Columbia silveridge 2.0. Very light weight and comfy. I'm a petite adult, 5'3", 29"inseam. Typically wear a 2 or 4 in jeans (26 or 27) depending on the cut. I ordered a size L and the fit was great. The rise was just right and there is room for movement - important as The fabric has no stretch. I prefer The converted shorts at a 9" inseam which is a few inches shorter than the adult version. The women's silveridge 2.0 is a bit nicer, but these at half the price are a good backup.

sizing is off

These pants are great quality and color (5 stars for that), but the sizing is way off (2 stars) in a Large. We've ordered the Silver Ridge III version of Columbia's pants numerous times in the past, so we thought we would try the Silver Ridge IV. The waist is elastic in the back vs. the III model, which had an adjustable waist, but most of the other details are the same. We ordered a Silver Ridge IV size L because my daughter was outgrowing the Medium in Silver Ridge III. When the Large arrived, they were much too large - a few extra inches in waist & a couple of extra inches in length more than she needed. Thinking that maybe Silver Ridge IV's run big, I exchanged the Large for a Medium. However, the Medium was too small (basically the size she's just outgrown, equivalent to a girl's 12) and fit much like a Medium in Silver Ridge III. It seems that there is a 2 size difference between the Medium and Large in Silver Ridge IV, so if you've outgrown the Medium, beware that the Large fits more like an XL in these pants.

No adjustable strap. Otherwise great.

Was very disappointing to find Columbia drop the adjustable strap with the newer version of these pants. Otherwise, it is a great, quality pair of pants. Found the size to run slightly larger.

Gave me a burn!

I loved the color and the light weight material, but the hem kept rubbing the skin over my hip bone. After backpacking for 4 days, my hip skin was practically raw. I probably wouldn’t wear these for a long term trip next time

Liked the previous version (Silver Ridge III) better

These pants Silver Ridge IV are the same fabric and quality as the Silver Ridge III. I like the new colors as well. The length is perfect for my 11 years old tall daughter but the waist of the pant is too large. This wasn't a problem at all with the old version since it had the adjustable elastic waistband but why on earth Columbia would removed it for these new version??? There is no way you can tighten up the pant. It's just a "partial elastic at waist". You could probably use a belt but the adjustable elastic waistband was much more convenient.

Huge!!!

Huge! My daughter wears a 10-12 and so I ordered her a large. They fell to the floor. I guess i will try medium. Otherwise, the color is great, and they look like sturdy pants. I just wish they had a better size chart.
