Works great to dry filiment
Just cut the supports out of the rings and it makes a great filament dryer. Set to 140 and in a few hrs your sloppy tpu is ready to use. You could probably make a ring to place the lid on pretty easy instead of cutting up the original pieces.

It works
I was a little worried about the quality, but I’ve had it a few weeks, used it three times and it has been working great.

DIY 3D filament dryer!
I bought this to modify into a DIY 3D printer filament dryer. I had to cut all of the supports out of the shelves in order to fit a roll of filament, but this is a great, cheap, DIY alternative to the much more expensive dedicated filament driers. I can't speak to the function of this as a food dehydrator, but it's a great filament dryer!

Size matters
Product worked well but when you have a stalk of bananas to dry it takes a few go-arounds

So far, checks out as a 3D printer filament dryer
I've been running this for over two hours, with an oven thermometer in the modded chamber. Basically, I just put some corrugated cardboard and two layers of mylar bubble wrap insulation between one tray and the lid. (5" width. Takes about 31" length to make the cylinder.) I also ended up taping 4 of the 6 vent holes in the lid. The oven thermometer reads right at 50 Celsius, or 122 F, which is my target temperature. To get that, I ended up turning the knob just below the 140 degree mark. So temperature control isn't 100% accurate, but the temp seems to be stable. Adding the bubble wrap insulation seems to be a must. Before I added it, the chamber wall felt very warm, but with the bubble wrap, the outer temp feels not much more than room temp. Another 3D printer reviewer also used a cardboard chamber, but couldn't achieve his desired temperature. The increased surface area probably radiates heat away too fast for the heater to keep up. This makes me seriously question the value of this device as a food dryer, unless one makes a bubble wrap insulation couzy for the trays. Also, another reviewer talked about taping the vent holes up on the lid, after which some component melted. I think the blower/heater depends on airflow for cooling, so I wouldn't tape all of the holes up. In any case, I'm about to get my first filament spool to try drying it overnight.

Perfect for my use
I ordered this to dehydrate the lemons from my tree. So far I have found that using the temperature at 140 works well, but it takes two full days to get them completely dry. I don't mind the extra time as this helped them from turning brown. I have not tried on anything else... yet!

Functional and good pricing.
Used this product for a few months now and it has been great! Does what it is supposed to do. Not the fanciest dehydrator but perfect for making a snack here and there.

Wow, so happy with this dehydrator
This is the first dehydrator that I purchased mainly to make jerky since I am a big meat eater. The first day I made beef jerky, highest temp setting and in 3 hours it was ready to eat..so delicious. The next day I made porc jerky..just delicious!!! Rotate the trays every half hour or so so that everything dries evenly. I have been using it every day because I can't even keep the jerky around it gets eaten up too quickly no matter how much I make.
