ComStar’s Copper Lock is the revolutionary & environmentally safe method for soldering pipes designed for the US Space Program. This unique product instantly bonds copper & brass pipes/fitting without the use of heat or metal solder. Copper Lock is great for all yellow metals, copper, brass pipe, fittings, all refrigerants & liquids. Simply apply it inside the connector and/or onto the pipe; making sure the liquid is totally around the circumference, fit in the pipe, & within 60 seconds a permanent leak-proof seal will prevail. No heat or solder is required to create a permanent leak-proof bond. Copper Lock can seal copper pipes up to 2 inches (580 mm). One of these 2 ozs descriptions still bonds as many as 340 3/8-inch fittings. Copper Lock’s patent-pending formula allows for it to withstand pressures of 10,000 PSI flow and 500 PSI contained. It can also withstand temperatures from -60°F to +300°F. It can handle water systems pressure tests in 2 minutes and A/C system pressure tests in 25 minutes. Copper Lock can also be disassembled at 400°F heat and then reapplied. Copper Lock exceeds all US Military copper bonding specifications: Mil-S-46163A Type I Grade K, Mil-S-224723E Letter Grade CVV.

Didn't work on ac tubing

Reviews looked great and I really wanted this to work, but sadly it failed on multiple connections on my mini split ac install. Maybe the pressures were to high or the tubing (1/2 and 3/8) ware too small. Nevertheless I had to replace them with flange nut connections. Maybe would have worked better with standsrd 1/2 inch water lines.

Works half the time!

I followed all the instructions, and cleaned the copper well (just as if soldering) and clean any dust left from the brush (tip from another reviewer). I had about a 50% success rate, the fittings didn’t blow off just had slight leaks. I bought the product for some spotshard to get to with the torch…had to do it the old and more reliable way in the end. ????

Works well and fast

It works just like a product that I have been used for the past 35 + years (locktite) Same Red liquid, same aerobic action, same smell and hopefully works as well. PS: For the people who do not how this type of product works, the product needs air to stay a liquid, if the bottle is full it will set up. You are paying for a given amount not a full bottle. As I always say "If all else fails, try the instructions!"

Copper lock delivers with some minor deviation from the instructions Finding this product was heaven sent. I had some work to do in an area where I could not braise. It did take a little time to get it to work correctly without leaking, but I used it on a high pressure gas system with unbelievable success once I got a strategy down. Surprisingly this is an epoxy type product that you can use in place of braising or soldering. In that regard it is pretty strong once cured. The main focus when using this product is that the joint connections must be very clean. Sand down the copper and then clean each joint of with alcohol, the better the clean the better the results. In addition, use a cotton swab to liberly apply to bother the pipe and the connector being mindful to have a good coverage. Lastly, when mating the pieces, be sure to hold the pipe and connecter together for a min until the bond is solid. The instructions say instant, but doing it this way ensures a.leak-free bond. I had a lot of trails with this product but it is an awesome product with a good technique. I would suggest that they rewrite the instructions, but Copper Lock is a winner in my book with the proper technique.

Hvac repairs DYI best friend

This worked very well with my new condenser replacement , this is way easier than using heat equipment and welding, this will bind so strong that you can't break with your arm, the key point is to brush the copper ends well and after job completion with in 20 min do an air suction out of system then add more to the ends and if there is any leak , the suction will cover the leaks, you can heat it up a little to speed up the bond, just hover light heat for a second or 2,
