Great warranty support
After 3 years of light use, these developed a problem with the blade not closing fully (see pic). I contacted Corona, not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised when they immediately offered to send a replacement. I definitely had a positive support experience. That said, I think I'd go for regular loppers next time instead of compound. It's too much of a pain opening the handles wide - many times other branches are in your way.

Willow Wacker
Pros: - 2" Capacity - Light Weight - Reasonable Cost - Compound Cutter, Less Effort - Easily Sharpened Cons: - Compound Cutter, More Distance to Open - No Rubber Stop I bought this lopper exclusively for trail maintenance a few times per year. That maintenance consists of 90% willows with the balance conifer limbs and Potentilla. Willows grow as a multi-stem cone from knee high to over head high and quickly obscure a trail if not pruned back periodically. The goal is to cut the willow within 6" of the root. To do that a long reach is needed and the compound mechanism reduces the force required. The AL 4110 is the least expensive of the ~40 lopper models that Corona makes. However it is not cheaply made, just design compromises to reduce cost. All the steel parts: cutter, hook, link bar were heavy gauge steel stampings with nice tight joints. I used this lopper for 8-hours over two days cutting 1000's of willows from 1/8" up to 1-1/2" Dia. If I could get the cutter/hook around the willow stem, then the cutting effort required was always trivial. By comparison, I have an old single pivot lopper, cutting the largest stems required every ounce of strength I had. If a cut wasn't clean, a small uncut ribbon, then sharpening was required. I sharpened the cutter perhaps a half-dozen times in the two days using one of theseCorona Clipper AC 8300 Sharpening Tool , fast and easy. The same compound mechanism that makes cutting so easy puts a lot of stress on the cutting edge, causing the edge to dull. Even though the AL 4110 lacks a rubber stop, I never felt a jarring close. Perhaps because willows cut so easily or it is just inherent in the compound mechanism? I considered one of the highly rated Fiskars PowerGear loppers, but if you watch their video, they need to be opened 180°, that's best suited for waist high cutting. For willows, the best cutting position is sitting on the dry ground. For that position, the 90-120° opening of the AL 4110 is a better fit, see attached photos. 1 Year Update: I've now trimmed over 10,000 willow and spruce branches, no I didn't count. Occasionally, the tool will bind from grit getting between the cutter and hook. Disassembly (4 identical 1/2" nuts) and simple cleaning and works like new. After all that use, held it to a bright light, no gap between the cutter and hook. Was on a backpack into a NM wilderness, met a USFS trail crew with a 5-foot long 2-man handsaw, they had this same lopper as part of their kit. The combination of light weight, long reach and powerful cutting action makes this lopper an ideal trail trimmer.

Cuts easily.
I am a 71 year old woman. I have used these tools in my yard for years. But my old tool drove me crazy, it stuck, it twisted it made me want to throw it as far as I could. After much research I decided to purchase this product and used it today for the first time. It's sharp. I can cut limbs I would not even have attempted to cut before. Over my head and high as I could reach! I recommend it!

Best all around
This is hands down my favorite pruner ever. I've used and abused 4 of them, still have 2. Will buy again after I destroy these 2.

Nice quality.....excellent mechanical advantage.
I purchase based reading reviews and was not disappointed the least. A well made quality lopper for a great price. I tackled an overgrown hedge row and was thoroughly pleased with the performance...the about leverage obtained and sharpness of the cutting blades. I dinged the blades up a little due to an old farm fence intertwined with the hedge, but was able to comfortably sharpened back to near new condition. I would have given 5 stars, but have found it impossible to order a replacement set of blades under the catalog number AL 4110...even on the Corona website for replacement parts. Although I am sure that a call to customer service will resolve the issue, I feel like the replacement set of blades should be referenced to the catalog number of the loppers.

Updated 12/2019 i am so glad we purchased these
when ours arrived i thought i looked good, appeared well made but didn't really think the difference in design would make that big of a difference in its use. i was very wrong it does make a big difference. the old pruners/loppers were the same size but a different design. those could barely handle a 3/4" green branch. with these loppers it is a simple matter to trim a branch twice that size. they have held up very well over the time we have had them. the blades are solid, well made and easy to sharpen when needed. these loppers are great and have worked out better than expected. i wouldn't hesitate to purchase again if needed let alone recommend them to anyone.

Excellent Trimmer. Reduce Fire Danger
Quite simply Corona makes good stuff. This thing punches above its weight. I have a half acre lot with all kinds of shrubs and trees. This trimmer works great for anything up to an inch in dia. or even more if you have strong arms and some technique. I am using this now to help trim lower branches/growth to minimize fire danger.

I purchased this lopper about 4 months ago and love it. It cuts easy on either green or hardened branches. Some have commented on the fragility of the blade but if used properly and one does not twist as you cut, there is no problem. This perceived flaw is because the blade is honed and sharp. The leverage in the design is great and works well. I also like the bright red handles asthis makes the tool easy to spot when it is laid down and the cut branches are collected for disposal. i definitely recommend it and would purchase it again.

Ease of use!
Very sharp and operates smoothly. However, given the curve of the blade, the handles have to open uncomfortably wide to accommodate the smallest of branches.

Great
They are super easy to use. I was able to cut through 1 inch wide green branches by only pressing with 2 fingers.

These things cut!
Built like a tank and cuts through branches that I probably shouldn't even try. Very good product.
