Not sure why the negative reviews...
These nail pullers have been a big help for removing the spiral nails and staples from a number of pallets for me. I don't understand the negative reviews however. Yeah there is some effort needed to remove the nails from a pallet. That's because they aren't supposed to be removed. The fact that you have to put in some effort isn't the pullers fault. Also the fact that you have to have something for them to grab onto, like the nail being slightly proud of the boards also should be expected. They aren't magical nail drawing pliers that you just wave at the nails. Also they are a specialty tool. They aren't pliers, or vice grips or the aforementioned magic wand, they're nail pullers and as such they are working exactly as they are supposed to. Doing a pretty fair job of it too.

Amazing tool
Large tool, and that's the only negative thing. Beautifully designed for nail removal if nail is not buried. 1) Teeth never slip on nail. Great tooth design 2) Leverage is huge with length of handles to easily remove the most stubborn nails 3) Didn't notice until it was in my hands, but the levering action when pulling a nail pulls the grip tighter around the nail as you remove it, even if the nail has no head! 4) I like seeing how the tooth design is such that Bonus) When the jaws are open to the position of gripping the shank of a framing nail, all the teeth touch the nail. That kind of attention to detail makes me respect chanellock for their fantastic design here!

Good value and works well
I am remodeling a home and removing Over 1500’ of red oak trim. I got these to pull the 10p finish nails through the back side so as not to mar the finished side. The product was a little stiff out of the box as could be expected but after 10 minutes of use I was able to hold and manipulate with one hand and hold the board down with the other. 10p and 16p finish nails take a little force to pull out of a dense wood like oak, smaller brads came right out. When pulling the same nails from a softer batch of pine trim the nails came out much easier. I could use these to pull nails from particleboard baseboards with no problem without damaging the face

Great for pulling nails from wood floors
I bought this for a home project and needed to pull various nails when doing demolition in floors and walls. It worked great when pulling nails where I had to remove sections of a hardwood floor.

I wholeheartedly endorse this product!
I remove the spacers in pallets to use in cutting boards. The nails are extremely difficult to remove when the spacers are made of hardwood. I am after hardwood spacers. Hardwood grabs the sides of the spiral nails quite well. Most times I literally dig the nails out of the spacers with a wood chisel. Using the chisel in turn destroys at least an inch of hardwood. I bought this less than a week ago and every nail I have tried to extract from hardwood has come out of the hardwood without destroying it. I am very happy with this product. I absolutely recommend this product. I think Crescent should consider making this product with a "vise grip". It might be even easier to use.

how did i not own this forever?
Not enough good things to say - functional and easy to use... and also keeps my hammer in good shape as I use this in my most challenging environments. It may feel like you don't need one of these, but you do (trust me).

Awesome
I removed an old metal patio roof with aluminum nails. It was nearly impossible to remove any of the thin-headed nails without just removing the head, leaving the shaft only. This tools works really well to pull those out. It's a pricey tool but it's a very solid build and gets the job done.

Brilliant tool
Absolutely brilliant tool for removing nail and even screws. Well worth the price and wait as shipped from the USA. Nothing else like it available here in the UK for some reason! Im recycling old timber and did a lot of research to find the ultimate tool and this is it....simple and bullet proof build. One thing I like is that when you pull a nail it doesn't shoot out and disappear it stays gripped between the jaws for easy disposal. Expect them to last a lifetime!!

Worth every penny and more
Absolutely brilliant tool from cresent tools. I use this to get out the big rusty nails that hold pallets together which I break up for kindling. Tried various other ways but this little gem does the job better than anything.

Great tool. Easily pulled nails from the oak bearers on pallets. The design is such that the more effort one has to apply to extract the nail the tighter the jaws grip. Have bought two pairs (one for each location I work at) and my son-out-law has bought some as well :-)

Good value for money
The item is well made a little bit heavy and could do with a spring opener so you could use with one hand apart from that dose what it says
