Works for replacing random damaged shingles.
Used to help replace several damaged shingles and roofing nail pops. Works sufficiently well to get the job done. I think it could be improved if the "toe" end which holds the nail were about two inched longer, which would probably necessitate some type of buttress reinforcement since you would be changing the hammering leverage distance. When the nailing area is farther up on the underlying shingle, it is a little tricky to hold the tool with the nail in the end, flex a used shingle up over the tool and hammer on the raised boss with only two hands. The boss you hammer on sometimes is under the overlapping shingle. Overall glad I purchased, did make a challenging repair doable.

Tool is a lifesaver
Lost many shingles in last wind storm. This tool allowed me to remove the damaged shingles and replace with no damage to the ones previously installed. Wish I had one of these years ago.

Did as advertised
Works better than anything I ever used on a vent cap replacement.

Fantastic tool for roof repairs
Our roof is old. The last winter with heavy ice accumulation accelerated the damage to the shingles at the eaves. Before doing an entire roof, this tool made it realistic to replace the lower courses of shingles and underlying felt paper without destroying yet more shingles, and be prepared for this winter. Be sure to put pressure on the nail when you are setting it before driving it home, to avoid driving it at an angle. Again, a great tool, especially when replacing shingles on a roof with older, more fragile shingles to deal with.

Not bad for a small quick patch
I bought this item expecting it to be like the older version I had had for quite some time. The item does work but it is much smaller if you don't use it often that's an advantage, but if you have to use it constantly or over a larger area I would recommend you spring for the extra bucks for the larger version.

PacTool
Had a chance to use it this morning on a shingle that came off my roof. It worked as described and made the process much cleaner and user friendly. You still will need another pry bay to hold the upper shingle up high enough for clearance but that is to be expected. Very satisfied.

It works with a proviso
It works as advertised if you are using the skinny, shiny nails that come in tapes or belts for power nailers. But the galvanized roofing nails that you get loose, or in small packages for use with a hammer on small jobs or repairs, are too thick for the little slot. You can still get some use out of the dogleg shape of the tool for hammering a nail, but you have to position each nail with your fingers for the first few bashes, until the nail is set enough. Then you can move your fingers to safety and hammer away. You'll miss having three hands. The pry-bar end with the notch works as expected, Also, that green paint is all very nice, but... y'know... it doesn't survive repeated blows by a hammer, not even a smooth-faced one like I was using. I don't know of any coating that would, so it's not a real issue.

Replace shingles with ease
Had 4 or 5 shingles blow off last winter. Was able to replace them in 20 minutes or so without damaging surrounding shingles. Pricey at 60 plus dollars but I see the price has come down.

Very innovative tool...
I haven't used it yet but can clearly see it will work out fine. It's a very sturdy tool. Feels like a forging but it could be a casting, either way still good and solid. Great tool for shingle replacement.
