A CURT front trailer hitch allows you to use the front end of your vehicle for a variety of towing applications. They can be used for mounting a winch, a snow plow, a number of towing accessories and can even be used for some trailering applications. When space is limited, a front trailer hitch is commonly used to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. At the boat ramp, your boat trailer can be hitched up to the front receiver hitch, giving you better control over the trailer as you launch. Some of the other accessories that can be used with a front tow hitch are the CURT winch mount, step pad, license plate holder, spare tire mount, skid shield and tow hooks. Perfect fit

Installed the hitch to mount a snow plow. It was a perfect fit for my Tacoma as it was advertised. Th installation instructions can be more specific and detailed; which would make the installation process much easier.

Best front receiver on the market.

This this is solid I’m just not a fan of altering factory plastic it’s just a pain to get a nice finish on it. Other than that if your looking for a front receiver for a Toyota Tacoma this is #1 in my opinion.

Excellent front receiver hitch

Hitch arrived in excellent condition. Took about 15 or twenty minutes to install. I saw many that installed hitch left off front lower fascia. There are instructions about cutting the fascia so it will fit around the hitch. I didn’t like the large gaps that would be left so I scribed my fascia to the hitch for a more custom fit. That took the rest of the day. All together, very pleased with the hitch.

Fits perfectly with required modifications

I installed this on a 2017 Toyota Pro. The instructions, which suck, state the skid plate needs to be "trimmed", but fail to explain what part of the plate needs trimmed or how much. After removing the tow hook on the passenger side and the bolt on the opposite side (driver's side) and then holding the hitch in place, it is fairly easy to determine how much of the skid plate to trim. I used a cut-off grinding wheel and cut approximately 1 and 1/2 inches off the very front of the plate. I trimmed the plate without removing it from the vehicle. Once trimmed, the hitch was easy to install. Like other complaints, it is nearly impossible to torque the top bolts; I used a box end wrench and know that I met or exceeded the torque requirements. Note that there is no air dam on a Toyota Pro, so that installation step (trimming the air dam) is not required. I installed this hitch so I could mount a receiver winch; the ground clearance is not effected by installation of the hitch, however I did purchase a hitch extender (about 20 bucks) so the winch was not resting against the license plate holder. Considering the cost of a winch bumper ($1500) and the permanent modification of the vehicle body (cutting a part of the fenders off), this is an excellent alternative. I would definitely purchase this again, or recommend it to someone who doesn't want to pay $400-$500 to modify the pickup for a winch bumper.

Great product, fit like a dream

I've got a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-Road, and this unit installed without any issues. It's a high-quality product, and is beautifully finished (so, should handle road crud without problems). Extra bonus points -- it's built in the U.S.! It's so refreshing to be able to buy an affordably priced high-quality item that's domestically produced. I bought a similar unit for an earlier Tacoma, and got years of trouble-free service from it -- so I expect the same with this one. Some installation tips: 1) The installation instructions have good diagrams, but dark photos -- I'd recommend a quick online search to watch install videos before you start to work. 2) The mount is attached to your truck with two bolts on each end. I'd recommend you install the top bolt first (the one supplied with the unit); this way, you can leave the "cross beam insert" out while dealing with the top bolt. This gives you access to the back of the bolt, particularly handy if the thing gets loose (after you remove its "fish wire") and drops into the cross beam. This probably sounds like gibberish before you buy the unit, but it'll make sense when you have the installation instructions and parts kit in front of you. 2) The "fish wires" are a great way to get the top bolts and their spacers lined up with the appropriate holes. But once you take a bolt's fish wire off, it's free to fall back into the frame / cross beam (see tip 2, above). Fortunately there's a small hole behind this area in the frame -- I found it helped to hold the bolt in place with a skinny socket driver (something likethis ), at least until I got the respective nut started on the bolt (i.e., use the socket driver to push the bolt toward the nut).

Curt quality for frount mount gear

I always buy Curt product for towing related items. Solid assembly, quality materials, competitive price and a great fit. This is a great front mount receiver for a 3rd gen Tacoma. It took 20 minutes to install. The instructions say that you will need to trim the skid plate for the TRD Off Road model, but as you can see in the images, you do not as there is ample clearance between the skid plate and the receiver.

Excellent poduct

Fits 2017 Tacoma perfectly, installed in 35mins by Toyota mechanic (first time install). So I didn't have to get cold and dirty cost me $65 to get it install at dealership ( in Canada). match truck perfectly. Highly recomend. only bad note it came slightly damaged in shipping and seller never got back to me. for this it lose a star.

Good hitch for the money

Arrived in a box that was completely destroyed by shipping monkeys. However they could not destroy the hitch. Well made, piece of metal. Install was straight forward on my 2108 Toyota Tacoma Off Road. I took my time and it took me about an hour. Would buy again.
