great for cooking, but have a small screwdriver handy

i really like the product, but there are the tiniest little screws you have to remove to put in the batteries and they don't give you a tiny screwdriver. i probably gouged out the Xs in the screws trying to use the regular sized screwdriver I had on hand. I appreciate them wanting to make a durable product (though i still don't get why a instant read thermometer *needs* a screwed-in battery cover), but at least include a rinkydink screw driver to fit. honestly would have likely gone with a different thermometer if i had noticed the screws before because again it just seems like an unnecessary feature for the product.

The media could not be loaded. Wanted something simple. No extra button for unnecessary reasons. Just them internal temp. Easy to use. Open and it turns on. Close to turn off. Definitely remember to unwrap the battery first... which I didn't do at first and was frustrated. But duh lol wrap batteries and wha la works.

Easy to store and durable.

Big numbers and fast readout. It se3ms to burn through batteries though. It turns off when it's closed.

Have your own batteries!

Seems to work great. But when it arrived, it came with AAA batteries that you have to unwrap. Which is fine, but the ones sent to me were corroded. Thankfully had my own batteries and the corrosion hadn’t effected the device itself.
