Can't beat the price. My boys ages 2 & 5 love it. It sucks that you can't pick the color but for the price it's definitely worth it.

...I got 6 but only needed 1?

I read all the reviews about only getting one wand. I only need one wand so I went ahead and purchased it. They sent me 6 wands. Now I don't know what to do with all of them. Haha so weird! Not sure what happened, but I guess either you'll get 1 or 6. There was no packaging, seems like the picker just grabs a handful from a barrel and you get what you get. Anyway, works great. Im using mine for picking up sewing pins. I gave one to my boyfriend for his took box.

A little awkward to hold, but does the job!

I needed an inexpensive magnet wand for a magnet activity I did with my two year old. It works very well and easily picked up all the magnetic objects I put in a bin for her to explore (jingle bells, paper clips, and so forth). My only complaint is the handle is really lightweight and awkward to hold (because the magnet end is so heavy). It's not the most ergonomically friendly thing in the world. As a side note, my teenager and I invented (by accident) a Christmas game where one person holds the magnet wand, and the other person launches jingle bells into the air. The magnet wand holder has to try and catch as many bells as possible using only the wand. It's actually quite fun to play, so be sure to pick up a pack of jingle bells from the dollar store to accompany your magnet wand.

Basic, but...

I have a bunch of Speks (check em out, they're fabulous) and they like to run away every now and then. This thing is perfect for finding those tiny things, no matter where they've gone off to.

Every Kid, kitchen or sewing basket should have one!

I love magnet wands. They facilitate scientific exploration, curriculum for younger students.. I also have one for my sewing basket (cuz those pins spill sometimes).. and I have one in my kitchen as well. Most kids 4-10 love magnet wands. I would get a child several to work with.. in different colors. I would have them in most classrooms. Excellent, safe, useful.
