Wonderful products !
Hi This review is not for the specific product, as it is a present and has not been opened yet. However, we have stopped the counting of how many Engino kits we have already purchased. They are simply the best that I have seen so far.

Fun
Durable. Great as a gift and easy to assemble. Definitely need more than one set if you want to make two things.

A fun toy for ages 7 and 10
Our granddaughter wanted to try her hand at some kind of building toy. Before investing in Legos, I decided to give this set a try. She has really enjoyed it with a little help from her 10 year old brother. It has a great plastic box with clasps and handles to hold all of the pieces. Only complaint is that one piece (circle with attaching arm on side was missing some sort of connecting piece.)

Great Birthday Gift Idea
Bought this as a birthday gift for a 5 year old. He loved it. It is easy to put together and create new things.

Should be fun!
This should be fun for my students when they return next week. I’ll probably wish I had more. My only disappointment is the clear container arrived with a six inch crack down the side. Update: there are hardly enough in the kit to entertain more then one child at a time.

Why should I need the internet for my child to build sets?
I love the concept of this set. My son was thrilled that there are 30 different models to build. But please!!! At the very least, make it so that we can print off the instructions! I don't want my son on electronics in order to be creative...it is the main point of having "creative building sets"--no screen. You can't even download the instructions onto a tablet or computer--you have to be *on the Engino site* to use the instructions (at least from what I can tell). So while I'd give the set itself 5 stars, I'm only leaving a 2-star review because I think that not having printed/printable instructions is a huge fail.

Low quality
Cheap parts. Glitchy app. Warped tires. My 8 year old is actually mad that I bought this for him. All the 5 star reviews for this terrible product is very suspect. Do not trust.

Broken carry box
My product has arrived and the box is split, protruding said plastic. I don’t believe it is now safe for a child to use.

Use the app for a 3D instruction system
The media could not be loaded. Firstly despite being in a blue lidded box it’s actually quite nice to see pink and purple toned construction blocks as they are often male orientated colours. 20 items can be made with this kit (not all at the same time). The booklet it comes with could do with changing in my opinion. Personally although it’s nice to have a bit of educational reading most kids want to crack on with building stuff. The first few pages for me are wasted. They talk about motor cars and what you need to ride a bike. Does an 8 year old need to know this right now? The book could do with these bits removing and more pages of builds as the book only offers instructions for a car and a bike. There are another 18 items on the app you can choose to build. The app once downloaded allows you to follow the instructions in 3D which is great as a visual aid if kids get a bit stuck and can’t work out where they may have gone wrong. It’s a STEM set (science, technology, engineering and Maths) It fulfils this. Perfect for a budding engineer or creatively minded child. Those aged 7 and under may need some Additional supervision as some bits are fiddly.

Fantastic!!!
The media could not be loaded. This really is a great set!! It comes in its own tub with a clip on lid to keep all the pieces up together. It includes a booklet and the pieces were in several small bags within the tub when it arrives. We emptied them onto the carpet and counted each model piece according to what’s on the back of the instruction booklet to make sure the correct number of pieces were there and we weren’t missing any. All pieces were there. It does say you can download the app both on google play and the iOS App Store. Which I did on my iPhone, but I couldn’t find the corresponding kit on the app, so I found it much easier to use the laptop to go to the Engino website and look for the kit on there. My 7yo then chose what he wanted to make. You click on the item and it gives you step by step instructions starting from the very first piece. You can click back to the previous step, repeat the instruction, zoom in and out, and rotate the pieces on the screen to make it much easier. I could have done it on my tablet but I found using a mouse much better ie. the scroll button for zooming in and out etc. There were a few tricky pieces ie. you couldn’t just put them together, you had to jiggle them about or remove previous pieces to slot new ones in, but to be fair it wasn’t difficult and I’m a 45yo woman. My 7yo really like doing this. It’s a great way of spending time together, or to be honest when he gets older to do it himself. You can choose from 30 different models in this kit, so for me this really is a fantastic kit for the money! The pieces are easy to pop/slide and click together and easy to come apart by either pulling/sliding or using the remover tool that comes with the kit. They are sturdy pieces too and not ones that would break easily either. I love that they do these kits for girls too. Just a shame they didn’t have these when I was younger as I would have loved one!!

Ingenious construction kit, needs more pieces
We had never heard of Engino construction kits before, but research shows us that these clever construction brick systems start off with simple kits for young children such as this one, and move upwards through the age range to complex kits with mechanised moving parts, architectural models etc. All the bricks can be used with other Engino sets. Engino was founded in 2004 by Costas Sisamos in Cyprus. With degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Education, Costas worked for 10 years in Primary schools teaching Design & Technology. He developed the building system to encourage STEM learning - Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. The Engino range has won several educational toy awards around Europe. This Junior Models Set is aimed at 4 year olds and up. It has a more complex system for joining pieces than for example Lego and a good variety of shapes and colours. The plastic is more flexible than Lego. There are 10 suggested models you can make with the 47 pieces that come in this clear rigid plastic carry case. A colour booklet shows you how to make a crocodile and an aeroplane and 8 other model plans are available online via a free App. The booklet also has some facts about crocs and elephants with join the dot and colouring pictures. The specific models would be hard for 4 year olds to put together, rather a lot of different shapes and the colours in the booklet are not always accurate. However you can have fun putting pieces together in any way you wish and it is certainly more challenging than just joining simple bricks together. The storage box is only half full and for the price of £22 I would have liked it to see a larger quantity of blocks.
