sharp metal in the scissor part cut my fingers
The metal is super sharp-it cut my fingers in several spots. It is not visible until you look very closely or else clearly, I wouldn't have even used it! I have tried to take a photo-"almost" looks like rust. That aside, there is no padding or anything so even if it weren't sharp, it wouldn't have been comfortable. Lastly, the meatball stuck to it so it was a completely useless tool for making meatballs.

I love love love it
I love love love it! I was so concerned that the quality wouldn't be very good based on a couple of reviews and because the price was really good, compared to others I have seen. I have a bath and body business and was looking for a good meat baller to use for making bath bombs! This is great for that. I don't make meatballs with it, so, for that, I am unsure ;) It has been nice and strong for me while making these. I was using small plastic ornaments before this, so this was definitely a change. Over all I am very happy with this purchase and I am sure it will be a great tool for me to use for a long time to come! So far this little guy has made 150+ bath bombs without any issue whatsoever. I hope that you fine this review helpful and anyone looking to use it for this purpose has fun with it! Have a great day everyone!

Works well for making Shakeology cookies
I am a Beachbody coach. As part of eating healthy, I make ALOT of Shakeology cookies which only have 4 basic ingredients (Shakeology, oats, almond butter, and honey). The honey is the part that holds it together but I needed something to form the cookie balls that isn't too big. Using your hands is tough and these are the much better replacement. I would even like a nice 1" or even 3/4" one but this one does the job. I make dozens of cookies every week and use them as healthy snacks week after week. These consistently work and align well over time. The one thing it does need is occasional oil (vegetable oil works fine for metal lube in the kitchen). I can recommend these.

Good product.
This baller is great and very well built. It is a bit heavier than I anticipated but it makes the utensil stronger to use. The reason I gave 4/5 stars is because I was expecting it to be circular shape instead of cylindrical. I was hoping it would be a perfect (or near perfect) circle ball but it is not. The item is longer than it is wide. I anticipated using it for my cake pops, but we'll have to see. As a meatballer - it is perfect!

Dip in oil as you go, don't overfill, and make a meatball in 5 seconds or less
I made meatballs with 3 pounds of ground turkey very quickly, one about every 4-7 seconds. I fried the meatballs in a skillet with a little olive oil. The secret to get a fast release of the meatball is to dip in oil ( i used a 1 cup bowl) about every other meat ball and not to over-fill the meat-baller. If you do overfill, just scrape the excess off the baller where the excess is, when it's still closed, with the edge of a spoon or something. I had been making these by hand with a spoon and fingers which worked ok but was really slow compared to the meat-baller. Next time I will try dipping in water, but the oil really works well.

Worked great for cake balls
Used this ro make 400 cake balls for my daughter's wedding. I still had ro roll them when I was done but it allowed me to get a uniform size. Only problem was the handle where you put your fingers through is not comfortable and will leave a sore spot on your hand.

What?
I looked carefully at quite a few ballers and, based on the image shown here (actually, even here the images show two different models), I ordered it. However, I was in for a surprise. The picture shows a different model--one that is not actually round but oblong (see pictures). I had been using a melon baller to make those round pecan snowball cookies, but I thought this one would make it a little easier. The claimed size is correct if measuring the smallest circumference, but almost a quarter inch more the other way round. I'm guessing that for meatballs this issue is not so important, but either way, the images should match the product sold.

... that they are all the same size which is great! On the down side
The meatball maker ensures that they are all the same size which is great! On the down side, without some padding on the finger grips, fingers hurt after awhile & turned black where fingers were in contact with the handles. Great size...little over 1 ounce each.

Love it
Excellent and simple idea to make evenly sized meat balls every time. I have also used mine to make evenly sized dough balls for cookies. No more fighting over the biggest cookie on the tray. Super fast delivery time was an extra bonus.

:) Not much to say other than the product is as described and very simple. Not a specific requirement, but helps with being consistent with the size of meat balls you are looking to serve.
