Overall amazing carrier!

This review will require some backstory, but it should be interesting at any rate. I got this carrier after I got an unexpected Valentine's Day present, in the form of my 2nd cat. I found him after he'd been shot by some horrible people, and brought him home. For valentine's even though it was early, my hubby said we could keep him. My first cat is pretty protective of her carrier, so I needed a new one for Worf. He was uncomfortable in the hard carrier my family lent me, so I came to amazon, where I found this FurHaven carrier. Let me tell you, Worf loves it. The soft bed is so gentle on his healing shoulders and chest. He just loves to snuggle in it and get pulled about. It does take some effort during assembly, so here's what you should know. 1. That rod is a stability stick. There's a tiny velcrow flap between the 2 mesh windows in the front. Unvelcro it and slide the rod in, then reattach the velcro. 2. The bored looking thing are legs. It velcros on one side and the meddle portion snaps in to the bottom near the wheels. So overall. Pros: •Very comfortable for kitty •sturdy •easy to clean, just spot clean. •very durable, will hold up to kitty attempting escape. •Stylish. You'll love walking around with this thing. •and of course, it's airline approved, and also works as a car seatbelt. Cons: •hard to put together, instructions are unclear. •Nothing covers the wheels so they can hit you in the back. •slightly bulkier than other carriers. Conclusion: My cat loves this thing, and so do I! I'd definitely recommend this FurHaven roller backpack to my feline owning friends!

Not as advertised

The media could not be loaded. Some quick facts before I write my review: - My dog is 15 lbs - I used the carrier in both the back-pack and rolling back-pack mode - I am 5'8", average weight and average strength The Cons: 1. The "floor" of the back pack is not firm so my pet was sagging down as if in a tote bag. This did not appear comfortable as she was essentially smushed into the mesh front portion while the carrier was on my back or lying rather uncomfortably on the back panel when the carrier was in its rolling mode. 2. The carrier is too low to the ground when in rolling mode. 3. The back panel has two hard metal rods that run vertically to allow the carrier to be used as a rolling carrier. This creates an uncomfortable surface for the pet to be pressed against as well as painful to carry for the person. 4. There are clips that hang on the inside face of the front mesh portion that are designed to be able to keep the top half in place when opened. These work well. When they are not in use, however, they simply hang in the pets face while they are being carried. 5. The carrier came with a thin plastic rod that I assumed was meant to be placed in an area to keep the floor of the carrier from sagging. There was not, however, an intuitive area to put the rod nor instructions on where to place it. There is a partially velcro'd section of the carrier but as it is missing the fuzzy part, did not seem to be functional. 6. The water bottle that the carrier came with leaked so it could only be store vertically; a problem when the carrier was rolling on the ground and for travel in general. Pros: 1. The mesh allowed the carrier to be breathable 2. There were large pockets on the sides of the carrier which is great for storage. Unfortunately due to the issues mentioned previously I was unable to use the carrier more than once comfortably. Overall extremely disappointed in this product.

Yellowstone approved.

I road tripped to Yellowstone this summer. When talking with the park people for camping reservations they informed me that dogs are not allowed on the boardwalks or back country trails. However, they were so specific about where they were not allowed I had to ask for clarification. Sure enough, I verified, with two different people on two different days, that as long as I held him or put him in a back pack he could be with me (and not left in the car overheating) as technically he would not be on the boardwalks or side trails and would be restrained. So I bought this backpack. Great product at a great price. It worked wonderfully on the little side hike we did to the Painted Pots. If you're in a similar situation, I would absolutely recommend this product. I got a lot of cute/weird looks and comments, but at least my dog wasn't stuck in an oven of a car for 30 minutes while I went exploring. I liked that it has a little leash to keep puppy dogs where they need to be (inside) and you can let their heads stay out so they don't feel trapped. Plus it came with a fun water bottle/bowl for my pup.

Decent but not the best

Decent carrier that did its job for a few years. It worked and fit under the seat in front of me, and my dog was comfortable. I recently upgraded to a better product though because this one frustrated me because the bottom part that could detach for folding would sometimes detach while pulling my dog and cause me to have to fix it in the middle of the airport. The backpack straps also couldn’t be stored away and dragged on the floor when it was used as a rolling carrier, unless you figured out a way to tie them up to keep them from dragging.

Really like this

So I actually LOVE this product, but it has 4 stars because it wasn't built well. I had to sew a new zipper on it, tighten some screws, add some padding, sew up some holes, but my dog loves it and we use it all the time. My man added a PVC-pipe frame to it to keep it popped open for my dog. It work on planes - even Southwest flights!! Its roomy enough for my 9.5lb pup. She sleeps in it if we go camping. You can lay it down or stand it up and it's got plenty of storage. Hurts your back a bit - may need to add padding there, but overall I would buy this again. I wouldn't get any other kind of carrier.

Great backpack dog carrier

Really loved the backpack and also a place for them to lie around. I have a 2lbs puppy and she loves it- the only thing is when it’s used for a place for her to lie in - the opening does droop- even though it comes with a metal bar- has many options which why I went with this rather than a simple dog carrier

Buena relación calidad precio

Por el precio es una muy buena opción, bastante espaciosa y cómoda. Recomendación, acostumbra a tu perro a usarla y que esté en movimiento antes de que la lleves de viaje.
