surprised how strong it was

historically haven't used starting clamps... but got one when reading a suggestion... surprised how well it held still unclear the advantage of using a starting clamp vs. double clamping mains, or pre-tying cross...

Mine has a manufacturing defect, no response from Gamma

Lots of people seem to like this clamp, but mine has a manufacturing defect. I contacted Gamma by email but there has been no response yet. Hence the negative review here. See the pic, download it and zoom in to see that there is metallic layer on the inside of the jaws that is slipping off. Since day one, this clamp has not been able to hold any reasonable tension. It slips at less than 40 lbs. I hope that this is not common for other shoppers, but for me it is wasted money.

Gamma makes great products.

The Gamma clamp has always been my go-to for buying a starter clamp. It really holds the strings in place and easy to use. 10/10 recommend.

Great tennis starting clamp.

So i bought a Pro's Pro starting clamp and it just wasn't up to the job. It was very cheap. My mistake. This Gamma one is so much better. It never slips (unlike the Pro's Pro) and is much better built. Worth the extra money.

Does the job at a fair price

Good solid construction, haven't had a slippage issue whatsoever. This a great tool to have in anyones stringing arsenal.

This is a good clamp but you can get others that are cheaper that are as good.
