Behold! The PERFECT basic Power Strip!

I needed a power strip that fit a very specific criteria, and I can’t believe how hard it was to find one. It needed to have a 15ft cord, closable outlet covers, and have a length of less than 10.5”. I spent a whole night looking at power strips until I found the actual correct dimensions buried in the questions & answers (9.98” x 2.01” x 1.34”) One of my first Amazon orders 8+ years ago was this now-discontinued power strip cable organizer box, and I figured it would be perfect to protect a power strip I wanted to put next to my coffee table. However, finding a power strip that fit my needs was way more difficult than it should have been. When this box was made, a power strip was still just a power strip. Now we have what can only be described as an arms race to cram as many outlets on to a single surge protector, with many having dozens on a single unit. I feel like an old man telling my grandkids “back in my day, a power strip had 6 outlets and was only 10” long” as they nod silently while wheeling me into the nursing home. I have a loft space that I turned into a modest recording studio and home theater. All of my gear is plugged into various UPS’s, surge protectors, and power conditioners, most by a reliable brand that starts with the letter F. This just needed to be a basic power strip, capable of handling the usual consumer electronics while being able to withstand coffee table mishaps. Should you plug all of your most expensive gear into it? Maybe, but I probably wouldn’t. However, if you just need a basic, ordinary power strip with some handy features and typical dimensions, this does the job. The power switch works. All of the outlets and closable covers work. You can choose from multiple cord lengths that will fit just about any need. It knows what it is and it gets the job done. Thank you GE!

Just what I was looking for!

I was looking for a surge protector with 20 ft cord to go around the door frame but there are only 15 or 25 ft available in the market, so I was happy when I finally found this product! It’s working like a charm.

It works well...

Honestly this was the only name brand surge bar I could find that fit my need. I bought a lamp that is not an actual brand and I don't trust it. It's a nice lamp, but no-name lamp + old janky house = possible fire. Also, this surge bar is very sleek. Be careful about what you're buying. A lot of listings say surge protectors but are just power bars. I bought one that clearly showed a power switch, but didn't have one when it arrived.

Does what it should.

Good extension cord and surge protector. It reaches exactly where I measured it would, so it’s pretty close to 20 feet. I do wish that the outlets were angled 90 degrees more so that you could more easily fit larger power bricks, but I only have one at the time. Not a big issue for me.

Amazing cord!

I love the length of the extension cord and the ability to close off outlets while not in use. This is perfect for my nail desk set up and easily fits everything. I would say it is hard to wrap up again unless secured well.

First picture advertises straight plug

I needed a plug with a short lead for the receeded plugs behind my TV. The first image shows a straight plug, but it is flat. It did not fit my needs due to this.

¿Qué mas quieres en una barra de contactos?

La calidad es fenomenal. El color de la luz es bonito aunque puede ser molesto en la noche. Las cubiertas giratorias funcionan bien y son ideales si tienes niños o líquidos cerca. Tiene buen número de entradas y protege a los equipos conectados. También es sorprendentemente estética. La clavija es plana, aunque el ángulo en el que está posicionada es un poco inconveniente.

VALE LA PENA

Es extraño encontrar productos con las 3B. Este producto cumple con todo eso, el cable es super grueso, largo y la clavija es de tipo FAT por lo que tiene una construcción muy sólida. Cada contacto tiene su propia tapa de seguridad y también es para que no le entre el polvo. Vale la pena, incluso pienso en pedir otros más. Update: La luz azul que indica que está prendida es muy potente, lo que se puede volver un tanto molesto si apagas completamente la luz del cuarto en el que está. (tipo lo tengo en mi cuarto y de repente es relativamente molesto el foquito por que medio alumbra la habitación) Esto puede ser algo superfluo, pese a esto compraré otra más.
