Great warning device for price
This device is VERY ear piercing loud. If you use indoors be prepared. I used this for my patio back door inside my home. Works as intended. Was easy to install and alarm remote works from at least 20 feet away from the device while directly aiming at it. Down side, the amount of batteries it takes and there's no way to lower the volume. Overall- Still worth it and that sound will definitely scare anyone not belonging on your property off and get your attention and that of your neighbors. Totally recommend

A "GE Smart Home" product Dissapointment
I have other GE Smart Home products and am impressed with the function and quality of those products. Because those items work so well, I was expecting similar function with this unit. In the end, I was a bit dissapointed. It works OK, but I don't think you can count on it 100%. You can sneak past it if you move slow. The motion sensor also seems to be easily confused when sensing motion. I'm not sure what confuses it. It could be any of the following: walls that are painted white, heat, fans blowing, AC, any bright light [sun or electric], etc. The remote is IR rather than RF technology. That means "line of site" transmitting. You MUST be facing the front of the Alarm and it does not work well if the alarm is sitting on a table, etc. It works best mounted to the wall where the IR sensor will be unobstructed. If I had a chance to try it before I bought it, would I still have bought it? Probably not and I'm glad that I only bought one. Still it is about worth $22-$23 [including shipping]. I wouldn't pay more. I think the "Driveway Patrol" type alarms [sold at Amazon] are more practicle and reliable for indoor use. Of course, with that product it's "transmitt channel" can be an issue if more than one operate in the same area. The transmitt channels are fixed/ non-adjustable. So, if you want to use two and want to know which one is going off [say front vs. back door] you may not be able to do that. It would be more like an alert telling you that "one of the units is sensing some sort of movement". That is why I think they are best used indoors as well. Wind can cause many false alarms from items or trees moving around outside. If you only need a door chime, I think this style item [driveway patrol] is a better choice. It has a seperate sensor that you can easily place/ relocate and a base with the chime in it. You can place the base where you want, choose Hi-Lo chime volume, and turn it off as well. It's also about half the cost. Both items have pro's and con's. You have to choose what is best for you. As I mentioned earlier, I find the "Driveway Patrol" style more useful. What impresses me most are the numerous choices and feedback you can check out at Amazon before making your choice. I find these reviews help a lot.

Not for sensitive sleepers and homes with pets
The alarm is almost too loud to use. Activation and deactivation beeps are at least 80 decibels and can be heard behind closed doors. Households with sensitive sleepers should avoid the alarm. Range is much higher than rated. Late night bathroom breaks will activate the alarm from over 25 feet away. I had to angle the alarm away from the hallway to avoid accidental tripping. It is also not smart enough to ignore pets. I will use it as a burglar alarm when out of the house, but it is not recommended if there is anyone at home.

Worked perfect!
Had a house for sale that was getting broke into regularly through the garage (they would kick the back door so hard it would knock it out of the frame!), despite neighbors and police keeping an eye on it. Put it on the ceiling. Tested it and made sure the range was good, and left. Got a phone call a couple of nights later. Next door neighbor woke up in the middle of the night. Not sure if he had heard something or not, he was wondering should he investigate, when he heard the alarm go off followed by yelling and screaming. The 30 second delay was perfect. As they were kicking in the garage back door, they tripped the alarm. Not knowing that, they proceeded to try to break into the house. The fact that the alarm goes off for a certain amount of time, and then resets itself is great for a couple of reasons. 1 - the house is about an hour away. 2 - whoever breaks in has no idea whether the alarm (or a concerned neighbor) alerted the police, owner, or a security company, and it was any one of them who deactivated it. Had no more problems until the house was sold.

Mostly works - good for the price
For the price these work fairly well and give a little feeling of low hassle portable security. I use them indoors in Florida. I hv noticed when the ac is off their performance degrades a lot. Where they sensed at 15 ft away in cooled air, will only sense within 5 ft in hotter air

Excellent Value for the money
Excellent value. Read the manual before reaching your conclusions regarding the timing. This is an update to a previous version; the remote controls between the versions are not compatible, but they are compatible among like versions, so you can operate several alarms with only one remote control. For those that are concerned about the LED giving away its location and a burglar getting to it, just COVER the LED with black tape. The alarms should be placed with a ladder so they are difficult to reach. Think about how easy it was for you to mount, that's how easy it is going to be for a burglar to UN-mount. Again, this is an excellent value for the price, especially if you are on a situation when you want to leave for vacation and don't have the time or the money to go to pricier for contract services like ADP or Brinks.

Loud annoying alarm! I LOVE IT!
Fast delivery. The alarm part was very loud and annoying! PERFECT! Just the way I want it to be! LOL The chime was pretty loud too! Too loud for my old wooden building though so I turned it off.

The sound is good but sometimes the remote doesn't work
The sound is good but sometimes the remote doesn't work. I find I have to get right up to the main system for the remote to work. That is to disarm it. Other wise it works fine and we will see what happens in the cold winter.
