It works, but there is a $50 a year fee!
I should have done more research on this. It does work as stated and is fairly easy to setup and use. However it requires a 50.00 a year subscription to get ANY information from this device. It uses a cellular signal and only updates once per day at the same time you first set it up. You can change the time only by using the magnets to tell it to “update now”. You can not make it update on demand from the app. The whole magnet thing is weird also, but I guess it was it’s better than having a button that can leak. The readings take a while to show up in the app at times. I did reach out to their support number but was required to leave a message. No one ever called back, but I figured out my issues on my own. I like having the information, but had I known how it worked and about the yearly fee, i probability wouldn’t have purchased it. It’s not that far a walk to look at the gauge.

Dead Batteries and Poor Support
The unit arrived and, while the install process was a bit ‘clunky’ it doesn’t require tools and was finished in a few minutes. I did have to enter the device ID manually as the QR code would not register. After getting it connected and doing the initial read, the device immediately reported critically low battery levels. I called Generac and was told that they couldn’t do anything as I purchased the product through Amazon and Generac couldn’t tell how long the device had been ‘on the shelf’ with those batteries. I called Amazon and was told I would have to call Generac for support. A $250 device with non-rechargeable battery should not be packaged without battery protection. The L91 batteries cost $15 for a pack of 4 and I immediately had to dispose of dead batteries. Not good manufacturing practice. Not a good stocking and distribution practice. Not a good environmental practice.

Works well, easy to install!
This tank level monitor is easy to install and get running, and gives me peace of mind knowing the level of propane in our tank - allows me to ensure that we never run low and have enough for the backup generator as well as whole home heating and cooking. Very reliable too.

This product is miserable and the SERVICE is worse
I’ve tried 5 numbers listed for service in the included literature, and on the manufacturers website. I’ve tried calling AMAZON customer service and the were also unable to contact the vendor. I’ve texted them and emailed them all without successfully connecting to either the manufacturer (TANK UTILITY INC.) or GENERAC INC, who I’m told bought Tank Utility Inc. in 2001. I purchased this item because it is endorsed by GENERAC INC. for use with their Generators. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with AMAZON trying to get service because I didn’t want to run afoul of the new returns policy, but I’m forced to return this item and look for a product better suited to the purpose for which it is advertised. Both the product and the manufacturer are deficient in service and satisfaction. I’m looking for a good remote tank monitor if anyone has suggestions.

Very Nice
I've had this for about 1.5 months and it is working well. The only thing is the $49 a year for the cell service that I wasn't expecting and it doesn't come with a gauge. Order it separately.

Dead internal L91 lithium batteries
Recvd item delivery on 25Feb2023 and during install on 26Feb2023, unit would not initiate than noticed 4 dead L91 lithium batteries. This is unacceptable for a new item.

This will not show as a verified purchase
Amazon will not deliver anything to my island that has propane in the name, no matter what it actually is, so I needed to pay about $50 more to another vendor. I've argued with Amazon about this and no dice. It is ferry related, I believe. BUT this thing is great. You must have a remote ready gauge, if you do it is an easy hookup. The gauge has a little black pull out that says "remote ready". Just replace the piece of plastic with the plug on this. The device has a weird turn on/off sequence, uses a supplied magnet to do it. Works fine, though. My first reading was way off, so I had to turn it off and on again to force a new reading. Which was right on. It reads twice every 24 hours, will actually notify your gas vendor of the tank level. It has an easy to use app and website for remote monitoring. It will also notify you of a bunch of problem conditions, low battery, low propane level, device off line, etc. Supposedly, there is a charge for the monitoring app, I haven't been asked so far though. Another thing, when I got the bad initial read, I called support. After 5pm Pacific Time on a Saturday. I was thinking to myself, "yeah right". After a quick menu, two rings later a HUMAN BEING picked up. A real person. Who actually knew what they were doing and helped me fix my problem. A remarkable sequence of events, these days. So, if you travel a lot like I do and want to make sure your propane level is enough to keep your heat on or your backup power available, for the price this can't be beat. Apparently, if I understood the directions, it will monitor the level of oil tanks as well with the correct gauge. One last thing, it appears these gauge dials can be swapped out so a remote ready dial can be homeowner installed, in certain circumstances. Google would be your friend on this. I'll update as I get more time on this thing. So far, absolutely first rate.
