Many of the same design features as popular D-L trailer winches, but with some important differences. In a nutshell, these winches can be used for vertical ifting, whereas trailer winches are for horizontal pulling only. Brake winches have no ratchet, so they're always "in gear"..... there is no neutral, or free-wheel mode. A friction braking system is built in, so the load is always locked in place any time the handle is released. This winch is built for multi-purpose hauling and lifting operations. It is not to be used as a hoist for lifting, supporting, or transporting people, or for loads over areas where people could be present.

Quality well built

Seems like very good quality. Should come with cable. It was difficult to get info about the length of cable that would fit. I ended up buying the wrong type and having to return it. The cable was a bit difficult to install.

Works great on a boat lift

I was looking for a winch for my Shoremaster PWC lift that uses wire cable. The fit required a little modification ( I had to drill an extra hole in the winch) but other than that it is superior to the OEM. The large round handle that came with the lift originally did not fit on it but due to the much better gear ratio it is not needed. In fact I believe it to be a cleaner look. It appears to be well built and I expect it to last a long time.

Fantastic safety product

I put these on my Ice Castle after my pulling winch slipped out of my hand and broke my hand this winter. This eliminated the risk of that happening again. Money well spent on a great product!

Use to pick up logs with my log arch. Works great. Tried a cheaper winch and wasted my money. This one works great with little effort.

Heavy Duty Top Quality Winch

Heavy duty break winch. Bought to lift a heavy chain drag 8x8, Also use it to hoist deer and to hoist mower deck to change blades. I was missing one little piece, called the company and mailed a new one immediately. Very happy with the purchase.

Lasted 2 days before gear cracked.

Installed in a Farm King 1395 grain auger. On second day of use, the large gear cracked near a weld.

Excellent Value

Purchased this to use with my US Tower HDX555. I will be using it with the raising fixture. The gearing ratio is perfect for the task and the swap out from the existing winch was a snap.
