Being a Pen and Ink Artist, good quality materials are important! I always buy this brand of mylar!
For years, I have sketch out pencil drawings and then finalized my art on mylar with Pen and Ink. I have been using this brand of mylar for a long time and really enjoy the feel of it when I am working. The quality of the sheets and the touch of it are super smooth. I have also changed up different ink pens over time, and they all work really well. I love these products and will continue to buy them for years to come!

Didn't perform as advertised
I bought this so I could lay it over my watercolor painting and test colors before committing them to paper. The pigment beaded up and was a disappointment. I scrubbed it with a Mr. Clean eraser, and this allowed me to then paint on pigment without beading.

Very good product
Great clear film . May be placed over a painting or photo. Can be painted on with water based paint to test out changes to the original. May be reused for watercolor paints

Great for sketching with Oil Paints
Duralar films is a relatively inexpensive painting surface for sketching and idea crafting. It takes oil paints fairly decently but is slightly prone to picking up finger prints. If it an ultra smooth surface almost like painting on glass which makes is very useful for those who are doing more illustrative designs. It should be noted that for painters who prefer more traditional approaches to painting the surface does stain from more powerful colors but it is fairly difficult to created toned surfaces and artists should be aware of the issues relating to transparency. Because the sheet is completely clear it may lead to some artists having issues with tone changes and I would recommend tacking the sheets to a neutral surface or priming the backside with an acrylic.

Great for artists - helps visualize watercolor corrections without painting on your wc paper
Seems to work pretty good. I tried plain acetate and the watercolor just ran off it. Takes a few seconds for it to stick on these. Laying watercolor painting down flat on a table and then putting this sheet on top - gives me a chance to paint possible corrections to see if they work -- before I paint on the watercolor ... and ruin it. This will be a very helpful tool in my studio. You can paint on both sides of it -- and when finished, use a damp cloth to wipe off. Phtalo colors will stain it - so avoid those.

Wonderful product!
I had my doubts about this product but now I love it and plan to buy more. There are tons of YouTube vids that shows the best way to use this product. I really love it and will buy the other products to play around with them!

Difficult to pencil draw an image on.
I prefer the matte finish of Dua-Lar. I can outline a image in pencil then use colored pencils to finish the drawing.

Good for a face shield...
I made a homemade face shield and was able to roll it so it could travel well with me without creasing.
