Quick installation

I bought this because it could be installed on something as thin as a screen. The guy building our catio was going to install it in a piece of plexiglass, so this was perfect. It allows us to close the window when the catio isn't in use or if the weather is bad, although it is supposed to be suitable for outdoors - we just haven't had it long enough for a good test. The flap is a little stiff, but that may work out with time. Our handyman said it was easy to install and it looks nice - we'll just see how many times the cats try going through the plexiglass until they figure out there's a door! The cats haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I may give an update in a few weeks.

Figure the hardware

Very durable. Really like it. The hardware to put it together, if I knew before i bought it what they used. No way.

make the door swing instead of flex my cat doesn't like it much.

Sturdy and rugged

These doors are a little bigger than the ones I had. I purchased 2 doors and put a 2 flap door through the wall to the outside to keep wind and debris from blowing in. It works great that way.

Works well

This works well, I just wish it fit my door better. I have a paneled door and it just really sticks out. Otherwise the cats get in and out just fine. I use it for the basement door.

Plastic fasteners strip easily.

The instructions were fairly easy to a plain, smooth door, but it becomes increasingly difficult on doors that have bevels. If you are slightly off with the drill holes, the plastic fasteners strip easily, making them useless. I had to get steel bolts. Then I had to plaster the dips to seal the door.

Be prepared to use your own parts and lose hours of your life.

Impossible to install with the PLASTIC screws provided that warp and strip at their first opportunity. We were able to get the job done after several hours of cutting down the hole and messing with the screws, but it was a total pain. I gave it two stars only because it works because of our five star effort
