Must have kitchen item

You know how once in a while a gadget actually lives up to the hype and makes your life more simple? These bamboo tongs save you from burning your fingers getting hot toast out of the toaster. We like it so much we got an identical set for the RV. There are lots of other brands out there and I don't know how good they are, but this one is good.

Good quality, excellent price

My mother had a single 12 inch toaster tong and my daughter broke it, accidentally. She purchased this set of tongs at a local high end kitchen shop and she was quite upset when my 9 year old daughter broke them so easily (they came apart at the top where it is glued). Wanting to avoid my Mothers obvious wrath at this issue, I promptly opened my Amazon app and found this set of 2 sized tongs! And it was half the price of what my Mother paid at the fancy kitchen store. Being a Prime member, these arrived in 2 days! I delivered them to my Mother, who had gone without toast or English Muffins for 2 days now. She is extremely pleased with this new set. She will thrilled to try the small set of tongs, and prefers that to the 12 inch pair. My Mother can eat toast again, I saved a trip to the mall and we are all much happier now. Thank you Amazon! You saved the day ????

Education doesn't always guarantee intelligence

I had to get this to save lives. (And my house, and my breakfast.) We entertain out-of-state guests alot. They're always invited to stay over. The ladies handle the evening meal, and the guys struggle through, I mean equally handle, breakfast the next morning. Recently, my brother-in-law, the LICMSW (CT State social worker), and my better-half, I said better - not smarter, an engineer for the government (I won't say what kind of engineer or he may never be able to show his face in public again) were making mock Macmuffins. To make a long, woefully pitiful story short, the scenario involved 8 hungry adults, the two afore-mentioned educated men, a plugged-in toaster, two piles of English muffins, one toasted, the other waiting to be so, a stainless-steel fork, and eagle-eyed me. I let out a scream of "what the %#*@ are you two trying to do yourselves, my house, and all of our breakfasts?" It wasn't pretty, but it got down right ugly, when they responded, with their cute middle-age little boy faces that they do it all the time. Exit stainless-steel fork, enter bamboo toast tong. I love that they are made of a very sustainable product, and that the guys can continue to make the gals breakfast without the need to have 911 on speed-dial.

Good, wish they were longer with slight curve

I use these for dusting high places. They are very easy to clean and very lightweight. The joint is a bit too springy for me, hard to hold even a bunched cloth. And i wish they were longer for my weird use. A slight curve or bend midway would make squeezing, pinching, and gripping easier. Probably the same for toast. Imagine they might tear the slices since you have to grip so hard.

Excellent toast tongs!

We've been using these tongs daily for about 6 weeks now, and we are very pleased. We wanted some tongs that we could use to retrieve English muffins from the toaster without risking electrocution. These have worked great. Good points about the tongs: - They are durable. We haven't noticed any change in their shape, despite repeated use. - They are attractive. It's hard to tell from the picture, but they look nice. We (hand) wash them from time to time, and they still look brand new. No change in the color. - They work!! We have unsuccessfully tried other tongs that are slightly rounded. These tongs, however, are flat. They slide right between the toast or English muffins and the inside of the toaster. They are long enough to provide a good grip with enough force to lift out the toast or muffin. - They won't electrocute you. Some tongs (terrifyingly) have metal insides. These are completely wood. No need to unplug the toaster before using them. No bad points to mention about these tongs. They are great, and we highly recommend them.

Safety First!

OK. We're talking bamboo toaster tongs. Toaster Tongs (say that ten times real fast!) Although it sounds dorky, I really do love my stupid toaster tongs because - ya, when my brother was a kid, he stuck a fork in a toaster and magically flew across the kitchen into another room, so an image of that doesn't leave you. Aside from the trip down memory lane, yes, they are bamboo, yes they arrived on time, they work just as described, so outside of Obvious Guy saying "Don't stick anything other than a bamboo toast tong in the toaster!" what else can I say to endorse this product. They're simple, they work. I store them as pictured -sticks down- right there in the ol' toaster, handy dandy. Buy the toaster tongs save a life! Or at least keep your brother from flying.

Works well after modification by user.

As delivered, the tips were partially flat, as outlined in red in the picture. The flat ends tended to hit the toast, push it down, and squeeze or puncture it. After I filed bevels in place of the inside corners, as shown in the picture, the tips have more tendency to embrace the toast instead of interfering, and it works well.

No more Ouches!

We love these toast tongs. The length keeps finger well back from the top of the toaster and can be used to grab anything that got caught in the bottom of the toasting space. No one says "ouch" anymore when reaching for the toast when it pops.
