Doesn't come with fuel
For some reason, I was under the impression that this little fire pit came with lighter fluid, but it doesn't! So be sure to pick some up or isopropyl alcohol. It was super simple to put together and looks really cute on my coffee table (I did put a coaster underneath because I was worried about the heat). It's decently well made, maybe a little pricey for the craftmanship but I still really like it!

Very tiny fire pit, use with caution
On a whim I saw this mini fire pit suitable for a patio or coffee table or some such and snagged it. I'm not sure what I really expected from it, but it does provide some ambience! The "pit" itself is made of concrete and seems very sturdy. I will give a bit of warning though that I wouldn't put it directly on the surface it's sitting on (e.g. coffee table) as it might get hot and cause damage. I threw a coaster under mine out of precaution. It does come with a glass "screen" to keep the flames a bit more under control, however it did cause the glass to blacken when lit. A good scrubbing will take it off with a little glass cleaner. The lid to put out the flames is also a nice touch! (Also included is some fibrous material to soak in your fuel of choice, which I used isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.) Can you toast marshmallows with it? Yep! The only thing you need to be cautious of is what flammable fuel you're using. Rubbing alcohol made the marshmallows taste a little weird. Also what type of fuel you use will affect the flame, and how hot it gets. DO NOT OVERFILL IT! Lastly though, this definitely is something you need to keep an eye on, especially if you have little ones nearby. I'm an adult that likes playing with fire... I can only imagine how little kids would be around it. Practice fire safety when using!

Good tabletop fire pit
After using it indoors for the first time, I've decided that we're only going to use this outdoors. We used it in a well-ventilated area but still smelled the fumes. The flames also at x went above the glass shield + darkened the glass (it looks black now). I like this fire pit though - great for toasting marshmallows

Works good
Hi, This Home Zone Living Concrete Portable Tabletop Square 4.7” Mini Fire Pit Bowl with Wick is a very nice little fire pit to have around for when the weather is to rainy or cold outside for and outside fire or for when you have company over. This was pretty easy to set up. I like that it came with a cover to put out the flame when you are done with it. I do wish it would have came with some kind of alcohol or the one of the other flameable materials to use to get it lit and try it out. I did have to go and pick up some materials to try it out. I like this product and I will update my review once I am able to make a smore and I will lyk how it tastes... =) Thanks for reading.

Tall flame, blackened the glass, very sturdy
This fire bowl has a very sturdy base. It does not feel like it would tip over. Online, the listing states that you can use a variety of materials as fuel. I opted to go with 91% isopropyl alcohol because it was cheap, I wasn’t interested in the scent of a gel canister, and the all of the liquid bioethanol I could find for sale online was quite expensive. We filled the reservoir about 1/3 of the way full and it burned for over an hour indoors on our dining table. The glass started blackening and was almost completely black by the time we put out the flame. I was very surprised at how tall the flame was. It did give off a little bit of heat. It’s nice that they included a tool to put out the fire, but I wish there was a better way to store it. I also wish they included some fuel to get you started, and some type of comparison between the different fuel types you could use and their pros/cons so you could choose the best fuel that matched what you were looking for. Maybe some of the other fuels wouldn’t have blackened the glass so badly or made the flame go up so tall. It is a neat item that would be fun to have set up when entertaining guests.

Enjoy the Beauty but Respect the Dangers of Fire
I educated myself on bioethanol after receiving this. Be careful using any product like this. Never overfill the container! There is a maximum-fill indicator, make sure the liquid bioethanol is below that level. Never ever refill when hot! Educate yourself and family members about proper use. Always read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Ethanol flames may not be visible so if you knock over the lamp you might not see where the flames are. After watching a video on the subject, I don’t think I will feel comfortable using anything like this without a fire blanket (can be found for less than $20) or a fire extinguisher rated for ethanol nearby. But I think if you take the proper precautions, it is reasonable to use a product like this and get enjoyment out of it. Also, I think I like the idea of using a prefilled gel can as the fuel instead of liquid. The consistency of gel seems like a better idea than using liquid fuel. People have been using canned gel fuel for decades in food service and catering, so I like that idea better than liquid. This product can accommodate the gel cans. The instructions call for cans that are 3.4 inches (86 mm) wide and 3.9 inches (98 mm) tall. The fuel is not included so you will need to buy it separately. But they do include a gel can opener! One of the feet on mine was not attached to the bottom so it tips to one side. I cannot use this in this condition. But the instructions say to call their customer service if anything is missing or damaged. I haven’t done that yet so I can’t report on the performance of this lamp since I haven’t used it. I can say it looks nice. I like that it has a glass barrier—not all of them have that feature. Also, I like that it accepts gel cans as fuel. I am deducting one star because of the issue I encountered.

Small but sturdy
The base has some heft to it which helps me feel a little more secure that I’m not going to set the house on fire, lol. The glass casing feels thin to me and does need cleaning after use (I’m unsure if it’s tempered glass...I sure hope so). It does not come with any sort of fuel for lighting. I couldn’t find instructions to use isopropyl alcohol...? My kids loved making s’mores over this. I love that it comes with a metal “snuffer” for when you are done. Great gift idea (just make sure to get something to light in it).
