Fits in a small bathroom

Perfect for my needs

The item arrived on time and came out of the box folded up. It unfolded easily and when the foot plate was dropped down it was stable - only had to slide it in place on the toilet. I have had bi-lateral knee surgery and weight about 195, but with the Surround I have no trouble letting myself down on the seat and lifting up afterward. The rubber feet grab the tile floor when you put weight on it, so it is very stable. Perfect for my needs.

Very Helpful Addition to our Master Bathroom

This is very sturdy. We like that it fits over our elongated higher stool. The slanted handrails make it easy for my husband to stand. I can slide it out when I need to sweep or mop around the stool. We just realized that it would be very easy to fold and take to our daughter's home, or to a hotel, because it folds easily. It is 20 inches between the grab bars, which works well for us, but might not work for someone heavier.

It’s a lifesaver!

It was easy to set up, looks as good as possible, based on what it is and where it goes, and was a good price. The handles are just right!

major design flaw that must be addressed

User has diabetic neuropathy, which means they don’t feel anything (in his case) on the feet-tops and bottoms. Unit has a nice design which has a bar across the bottom. When you stand up, you are standing on the gray platform. This really stabilizes the unit since your own weight holds it from wobbling. Major design flaw. The user was backing up to sit on the toilet and as he moved his foot back, the exposed hardware (in particular the right side when sitting) ripped open the individual’s heel on the screws, nuts and bolts. User never felt anything but family saw blood and traced it. We’ve covered the hardware with foam pipe wrap. Looks like crap, but it’s safer. Really a minor fix. Due to this wound, we are still in wound care treatment after two surgeries and 4 1/2 mos.

Unbalanced and dangerous

This product was unstable and seemed very unsafe. The legs did not sit level on the floor at all, like it was welded completely out of square. Seemed very dangerous, so I’m returning it. Best to buy something that actually attaches to your toilet for both the safety and stability of your loved one, too. This one is not steady enough at all. Horrible manufacturing.
