Works over laminate doors

Redoing our early 90s cabinets instead of replacing and this primer kept coming up in searches. After cleaning the doors we soapy water I added some mdf trim to turn the flat panel into a shaker style. Roll this primer over the laminate (Formica), mdf, and putty holes. It covered all surfaces easily it 2 light coats but more importantly it adhered very well to the laminate. I sanded in between the coats and then with 220 grit after the 2nd. The primer sanded and smoothed out nicely for my colored spray coat.

This is the BEST primer you can get your hands on

This primer has no limits, literally none. The adhesion is second to none. I had to order another one b/c my husband thought he would spill my liquid gold as I call this stuff. Joke aside, there is NO project this stuff won't tackle. I painted my bathroom tiles with it and let me tell you, 2 years later they still look as fresh as day one. No peeling, or cracking. Everything is sealed super good. Now I'm using it to make over my kitchen and it works like magic. I am using water based wood stain over the Stix and it looks beautiful.

The "Best" Has It's Limitations

I purchased two gallons to use with my Airless Sprayer and it flowed well and covered initially well. This is not 'cheap' primer from your local big box store. It is supposed to be the "Best." Sticks to anything almost. I was priming over 8 solid wood doors, originally stained. Talk about prep work. Sanded with 120 grit sandpaper by hand and with an orbital sander. Vacuumed down and wiped. The next day I would wipe each door down with a liquid degausser. Allowed to dry. I set them up in the garage when ready and then wiped them down with mineral spirits and allowed to dry. I sprayed them with a Magnum Graco X5 after spending hours reaching on whether to use an HVLP or Airless Sprayer. Used a 415 tip. They sprayed well and I put on three coats. After the second coat, I started noticing a potential problem. At least one door was showing some sort of 'pattern' or 'wood color' coming through the primer. Another door at one spot that literally bleed through immediately. Like magic. I sprayed a third coat, and took over an hour to clean up. This was after of course spending most of the day getting tarps up, plastic sheeting around everything. So it was a long day. This morning I see those "stain's" still coming through the primer. I read now that I should have purchased a BIN product, Cover Stain or 123 product. All three are less expensive and can be purchased at those Big Box stores. All three with each with a higher degree and price 'stick' well per their product label. Now I have to lightly sand and do this day's work all over again. I must have grown up a bit over the years. My wife is more upset about it than I am! So for less money and better results, I have learned to stick with the products above. The 'best' isn't always what you need.

No more pink!

Exactly what I was looking for! I did two coats of primer and 1 coat paint. This primer is amazing. We had a loose tile near the shower and with this it sealed it, not loose anymore!

It covered my tiles very well!

The product covered the tiles as I hoped. I did need to apply two coats. The good thing is I waited maybe a few hours to apply the second coat. My bathroom will look great when I’m done!

Great stick to cabinets

It’s a very hard primer which sticks great to the kitchen cabinets to get ready to paint. Dried really well.

This is an outstanding product

Most paint of this type often fails to perform as advertised - even with great attention to detail in the prep stage...... This product ticked every box for me by doing exactally what the advertising stated! Just buy it!
