A top-of-the-line cutting board. Made of gorgeous Acacia hardwood, this Square End Grain Butting Board is functional and beautiful due to its rich, shimmering colors. Unlike traditionally made boards, end grain construction is less dulling to cutlery because the wood grain direction accommodates cutting instead of resisting it. Wear and tear is minimized on both cutlery and on the board, giving more longevity to all your cutting tools. This multi-functional board serves as a prep station, cutting and serving board to satisfy all your kitchen-needs. Decorative functionality at its finest, it's what you deserve. **Use & Care** Wash Ironwood Gourmet products in warm, soapy water and thoroughly rinse with clean water. Do not soak. To dry, prop up off of counter to allow all surfaces to air dry evenly. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. After drying, rejuvenate and protect the wood by rubbing it down with Ironwood Butcher Block Oil. Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood.

Cutting board
I bought this as a gift for my brother and his wife. They love it. Very pleased.

Beautiful and tough
I cannot believe how inexpensive this board is. I actually bought this specifically because I have a 14" square pizza pan and needed something to cut and serve pizzas on, but it has become a staple of my cooking station. It looks even better than the pictures, and after several months of use still looks brand new. It is thick and heavy and has small rubber feet on the bottom that keep it from moving at the wrong time, so you can feel confident using it. Highly recommend. It's as nice as boards two or three times the price.

Perfect size
Bought this to replace a 12in square cutting board that lives on my counter. This looks nice and is very sturdy and non-slip. Shows knife marks but has held up we'll to daily use and cheap enough to replace every few years.

The Cutting Board We've Wanted
This cutting board has been in use every day for almost three months. We use it multiple times a day to cut vegetables, fruits, bread, etc. The end grain holds up very well to knives, it resists staining and is really easy to clean. Once a week I've treated it with a cutting board oil to keep it in shape. The little feet on the bottom hold it firmly in place on the countertop. It has remained totally flat with no warping, checking, or splits...knock on wood ;) It's a good size for a home kitchen, big enough to cut several veggies for a recipe, but not too large to overwhelm your counter space.

A Diamond in the Rough!!
I am completely IN LOVE with this cutting board! I did a ton of research and read hundreds of reviews before I bought this one, and I'm so glad I did. When my gorgeous Ironwood Gourmet Acacia Wood cutting board arrived it was dry and a little sticky. Thanks to the great reviews, I wasn't worried! I gently washed it with Dawn dish soap and warm water and laid it on an open-design trivet (so air could get all around it) to dry completely. After a couple hours it was dry, so I started oiling. Based, again, on other reviews I had purchased a bottle of mineral oil from the grocery store. I think it was $1.99 for 16 ounces, and I found it in the laxative aisle of the pharmacy, go figure lol. Anyway, I put a generous coating on one side and all the edges, waited an hour or so, then flipped it over (still on the chrome trivet) and generously oiled the other side. It took about a week of doing this a couple times a day, but my cutting board looks just like the picture and is performing perfectly! Granted, I may have gone overboard with the oiling, but it was worth it to me not to have it warp. Now I just spread a little mineral oil on it every week, and I expect to reduce that soon. As far as performance goes, it's nice and thick, heavy, and doesn't really slide while I'm using it. Should that happen, I'll just throw a dish towel under it. Oh, I removed the little padded non-slip things first thing. Surprisingly, they were attached pretty well, but I wanted to be able to use both sides. If you're willing to invest a little time and patience in the beginning, then care for it properly, I highly recommend this beautiful cutting board.

Perfect size cutting board for small sink - it does need a bit of care before 1st use
Perfect size for my small 18 x 15 inch sink. I have a 14 x 20 cutting board that I love using but hate washing. This is the perfect size for a small kitchen. Needless to say, I have not reached for my 14 x 20 cutting board unless I am carving meat. I'd rate it 4.5 stars if I can because you do need to sand it and oil it really well before use. Sanding only took 5 minutes by hand. The wood is really dry so I'd recommend oiling it twice. So oil it, let it soak overnight, and repeat again the next day. The acacia wood does make my kitchen towel slightly reddish-brown when I towel dry it. It's just the natural wood color rubbing off. I'm sure if I sand and polished it better it will be less but I just use a darker kitchen towel.

Beautiful but breaks
Beautiful cutting board. BUT have had less than 2 months. It cracked and started to bow even with using mineral oil as directed. Contacted the company and they are not able to help.

Beautiful- needs a LOT of oil for initial application
My board is very nice, no gobs of glue like some reviewers have mentioned. I was prepared for it to need a lot of oil based on another review I read before purchase. It's true- this thing has sucked up a ton of mineral oil over the last several days since I started treating it. Every time I liberally apply I come back a bit later and it is all sucked in. I've had other wooden boards in the past and never had one take up so much oil before it is fully impregnated. Not a flaw, just make sure you have enough mineral oil on hand to give it what it needs before beginning use. I think I am finally getting close to having it fully treated. The color has become very rich and beautiful. I can't speak to longevity or durability yet, but I am pleased with the look of the board. It is very smooth and the rounded beveled edges are uniform and lovely.

Lovely board
Perfect size, very sturdy and easy to clean, plus it's very esthetic. I oiled a lot before the first use, and so far it has no cracks.

I Love This Cutting Board
This board is beautiful! It's attractive, durable and tough. Some of the reviews I have read have been a little misleading, because if you don't care properly for a board such as this, it won't last. It's not a plastic cutting board, and with proper care, this will last for years to come. Make sure if you buy this you follow the very easy to understand care instructions. Buy the mineral oil and use it as directed. It's a small $ investment that will extend the life of this beautiful cutting board.

I'm angry about this board
This is terrible, don't buy it and here's why: Shipping: It arrived completely devoid of wrap/packaging, meaning that it collected filth at every stage of shipping. covered in huge stickers that will leave an unsafe residue. Additionally it was left cutting side down on concrete meaning a ton of scratches. Fit/Finish & Damage: It's terrible. The bevels that run along the edge are uneven and change angle every few centimeters. There are low spots along the face of the board making it useless in those areas. The edges are peppered with gashes. The board is also covered in grease stains. The lies: The company's marketing claims that they care about producing a good product. They also claim that it comes in packaging that reveals the board. Neither of these things are true otherwise I wouldnt be one of the many people complaining of these issues. Don't buy it.

Perfect size for turntable isolation surface
Review ::Ironwood 28218 End Grain Acacia Wood Cutting Board and Prep Station, 14" Square I bought this butcher board to function as a turntable isolation board. It was a DIY job with some speaker spikes to make a budget isolation surface for my budget turntable setup. I'm not willing to spend 300bucks on a prefabricated one especially since my system is pretty entry level. This board fits the budget and leveling spikes complete the job quite nicely Works great for my budget system. A great DIY solid tabletop with leveling screw speaker spikes .

Stunning Butcher Block (16 month update)
Updated after 16 months use! Okay, first 2 photos are with 4 months of use, last two photos are with 16 months of use. It ages like a fine cast iron. It's our daily use cutting board, and we cook a lot! Again, the butcher block is never let to sit wet. After being washed and dried it's treated with a thin coat of block oil. - - - Updated with images! After 4 months of daily use as our primary cutting board, and a weekly coating of butcher block oil, it still looks brand new! Treat it like a cast iron pan and it seems like it'll last forever. - - - Beautiful and large butcher block with foot pads to help keep it from sliding on counters. If you want it to keep up its quality, you need to get the oil to keep the wood from drying out and to keep the colour bright. I am always surprised when people write reviews about being disappointed that there are cut marks on the wood after using it as a ... cutting ... board ... so just be ready! If you use the board frequently it will develop cut marks. Regular maintenance with of a light sanding every couple of months and thin coating of oil after you wash and dry it thoroughly, and the board will stay beautiful for years.
