"A top-of-the-line cutting board that's large enough for any task. Made of gorgeous Acacia hardwood, this Large End Grain Chopping Block is functional and beautiful due to its rich, shimmering colors. Acacia wood is known for it's durability, which makes it the perfect wood for your kitchen prep station. The natural grain gives uniqueness to each cutting board. Unlike traditionally made boards, end grain construction is less dulling to cutlery because the wood grain direction accommodates cutting instead of resisting it. Wear and tear is minimized on both cutlery and on the board, giving more longevity to all your cutting tools. It can also be used as a beautiful serving piece when entertaining with friends and family. This multi-functional board serves as a prep station, cutting and serving board to satisfy all your kitchen-needs. Decorative functionality at its finest, it's what you deserve. This product is made from Acacia Wood from Thailand, a non-endangered species that is not harvested from rainforests. In fact, we plant a tree for every tree we use. Use & Care After use, wash this product in warm soapy water and wipe excess water off with a dry towel. Never soak or leave water on the wood during drying as it may result in warping over time. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. Rejuvenate and protect the your board rubbing it down with Ironwood Butcher Block Oil after each use. When the board is dry, apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood. From time to time, the surface may become ""bumpy"". This is completely natural as we leave all of our wood in its natural state with no varnishes or lacquers. You can simply use a high grit sandpaper to smooth it out and oil it again to bring it back to new!"

Really lovely
So, it looks way better in person. And it’s soft in the knives. Which I really like. I moisturize mine with olive oil like I do my cast iron after I wash it. I may need to look into that and make sure it doesn’t ruin it, but after I wash it - it definitely dries the wood out. So it needs to be kept moisturized :) Overall really great quality. Can feel it. And it’s beautiful. ????????????

Fine product
I like this cutting board a lot. It is sturdy and pleasantly hefty. Does not waltz about the counter when being rather forcibly used.

Good on paper, comes with flaws
My thoughts after about 5 months of use: Background: I got a replacement board because the original board I used exhibited the following defects: 1. There is one edge that was cut about 1.5 cm too short so the top edge is more of a slant, not a perfect rectangle. It's not bonus area, either; it's less than the stated dimensions. 2. There were several areas with pitting on the cutting surface. Minor scuffs are fine; this is a tool and will inevitably experience wear and tear. However, there were a few deeper pits that are a food safety concern. There is a large chip (2 cm x 1 cm) on the side of the board. 3. The bottom was unfinished, rough, and even more pitted. My replacement solved most of these. It is an actual rectangle and parallel with the blocks. There is still some pitting on this one, but at an acceptable level. The bottom was much better in terms of finish. There is some unevenness on the stain along the sides, but it's fine. After 5 months of use, my thoughts: - For the most part, I really like the look; it's probably the best available for the price (I bought at $60). - It's more satisfying to prep on than my cheaper boards. This may be a mental thing, but perception matters too, right? - It's a pretty good weight; sturdy enough for prep tasks and feels solid, but not too heavy that it's difficult to move around. - Acacia being a harder wood than maple has resulted in my knives needing honing and sharpening a bit more often, but it's not too bad. - Where you slice, there will be visible white marks left behind. Over time, this will make the most active area appear faded. Oiling will help this, but it will reappear pretty quickly. These areas also become much thirstier for oil. - One day, the board was a bit warped and rotated because the middle bowed past the feet. The next day, it was fine. I don't know what happened here. Maybe an effect of sunlight/temperature gradient. For the most part, with good care, this board has held up. I don't think the maintenance is excessive at all. There's basically only three guidelines: don't let it sit in water, wipe dry after washing, and oil it every couple months. I think $60 is a good price point for a budget end grain option that offers good aesthetics and decent construction. However, it should be recognized that there's a very real chance that the board you get should not have passed QC. Luckily, with free replacements, this is something you can deal with. It's a higher-than-entry-level-but-still-budget option for some higher-end qualities. It won't be perfect. If it were, it would cost $150-200. If you're willing to accept the compromises, I think it's decent.

Great block for the price.
The board is very nice looking and sturdy. Haven’t had it long so I can’t speak to durability yet. The first one I received had a crack in it from improper manufacturing/quality control. The boards weren’t joined properly, could see all the way through it. Replacement was perfectly fine though and the process was easy going through Amazon. I would recommend this based on my limited time with it and the price.

No protective packaging
The cutting board itself looks nice but was very thirsty so I applied some cutting board oil several times. It also has some rough spots and a tiny split in front next to the logo. Maybe if it was packaged better it wouldn’t have split. I’m really disappointed it was thrown in an Amazon box with some bubble pillows and that’s it. The board didn’t come in a company box with styrofoam so the presentation is awful if you’re planning on gifting this to someone. Care instructions are on a very small sticker attached to the board that peels of easily. I’m using it under my air fryer to protect my countertop . I would keep looking and not bother with this if I were to use it as an actual cutting board.

Loved the first one…
Loved the first one, bought another to go side by side on the stove. The newer one is thinner, and the edges aren’t as rounded as the original purchase. It also is made up of different size pieces (pictured) Was looking to contact seller to see what they could do for me short of just sending it back and trying again likely to get the same deal. I’m unable to find a contact for the seller hence the review. Maybe they’ll see this and respond accordingly, maybe not… Just wish they were at least the same height. If the pictures loaded (I’m unable to tell while writing this) the original board is the one on the left, the newer less satisfactory board is on the right. Not mad at the board, it’s pretty, just wish it had the same dimensions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Quite nice. Very thick and durable.
Holding up very well. No cracks or other flaws (unlike other boards I have had). Wish it had a groove for juices. Otherwise very happy. Would buy again.

Buy food grade mineral oil with this! This board is thirsty for oil and needs it otherwise it won’t last a long time. This is a heavier cutting board and quite large. If you have limited counter space consider measuring how much counter space it might take. Also consider where you will store it. This is a quality cutting board however it does come a little dry so make sure you oil it with mineral oil and leave it out to sit for 24 hr before your first use. What does dry mean? Well my first cut left a noticeable “cut” in the board while I do know it’s a cutting board, it shouldn’t be that deep and obvious for a brand new cutting board. I was suspecting it was not oiled enough. As soon as I put a thin layer of oil down I saw the board immediately soak it up. So I put a generous amount on the board and left it out on the counter for 24 hrs. I wiped it with a single paper towel because the board drank most of the oil. And viola the board “cuts” were not deep and had beautiful shine to it. The board looks lovely on the counter and adds an organic touch to my cold kitchen. Also the board is a solid brown with no red tint if that matters to you. Highly recommend but get the food grade mineral oil with it!

Great quality and value for an end grain board
Lived up to my expectations. Out of the box it looks impressive enough but after 3 days of oiling it looks quite amazing. In my opinion the finish was more than good enough when considering the price. Ive read some people expected glass smooth well If one really wanted it smoother you could either pay the extra 500 it would cost for that quality or spend an hour sanding which I did. It was fine as arrived I just felt like making it smoother was all. I like my cast iron pans the same way, smooth as glass. I also added rubber feet and stainless hardware so no rust issues will ever arise. Based on my purchase and experience i can highly recommend this as a high end quality cutting board and a great value purchase. Im really hoping for a decade or more will this board as im only doing veggies on it. Time will tell and ill update if anything happens. We will be purchasing more of Ironworks products going forward. . Only issues were minor but i should mention, ours came missing a bottom sticky pad - no biggie, i was planning on adding rubber feet anyhow. There was a small chip in the grain of one end piece on the top. So all in all 95 out of 100. I didn't expect absolute perfection for this price but I have to say it does appear to be as good or better than I had hoped. I Highly recommend this product

Good quality
It could use some more oil for the price and the little four cushions on the other side (which could eventually be used as well if needed, it is exactly the same finish) they don't have enough cushion and the block move slightly on the diagonal. I fixed this by adding some extra support. Looking closely it's not the best finished block and for a perfect look and feel it could use a good sanding session. 100 it is a little expensive, it should be around 60-70. Four stars for the product, not for the price. I just ordered one butcher block cutting board oil and I will apply first coat asap

Been my fav kitchen item for 2 years!!!
Best ever! Worth the money, best cutting board ever. Buy the proper oil and wax and some 220 sandpaper to re finish it every couple of months, restores like new. Love the size (big), more like a prep surface than a cutting board. Had for over 2 years now and I don't want to live without it
