Well made piece

This is a well-made piece. The surfaces were default-free, especially important in the valve seat, of course. The little hole in the overflow pipe, where the small hose from the fill valve goes, is designed to prevent inserting the hose too far down. This nice design feature helps prevent syphoning (which occurs if the fill hose goes below the water level in the tank). So it's a well designed piece. Associated with this, I have a tip for anyone having problems with their flappers. In our case, one of our two 2" flush valve toilets seemed to have persistent issues with proper seating of the flapper valve. A new flapper valve, and then a new flush valve, did not resolve the problem. I was really stumped, until I stopped ignoring the fact that the flapper always appeared to close way over, off center. Aha! Evidently, in some cases (not all), the way the water swirls down from the tank when flushing, causes the flapper valve to consistently close off center. Why so? The flapper are too flimsy! Specifically, the two arms that connect the flapper to the flush valve. Solution: just replace the all-rubber designs with a Fluidmaster 2" flapper, which has nice rigid plastic arms. That does the trick. I simply discarded the blue rubber flapper that came with this valve, and installed a Fluidmaster flapper instead.

Good product but wish it came with a gasket

Needed to replace one in a commode

You would think that replacing a flush valve in these modern times with all the big box stores would be easy, You go in and they have several but none that looks like the one you need. So went on line and fount the exact one I wanted works and looks good.
