Excellent for teaching second grade money unit
My class is quite large (28), so there was really only enough coins in the set for students to use three or four of each coin if you do a whole-class activity, so you may need to supplement if you need more than that. However, for smaller group activities, it is perfect. The coins are good quality, look and even sound like real coins. The lesson book that comes with the set is excellent, filled with worksheets that require using the coins as manipulatives to help with identification and purchases. I'm glad I purchased it!

My grandsons need to know how to count change and this will do the job.
My grandsons need to practice in how to deal with money before you start spending it, especially when it comes to counting change back, you need to know what your doing with other people's money.

Case
I bought this item for my granddaughter. While she is enjoying the money, learning to recognize and count, my issue is with the case. For the money I paid for this, one would think the case would close tightly so the money would not fall out. Instead the clear top just sits over the money. Come up with a better carrying case.

Hands on learning.
Very realistic. I used this in my math classroom and played "concession stand" to help students improve skills in counting money and giving change. I wish the "top" snapped on.
