Break ou the elbow grease
Short summery is this stuff works. However, it takes a lot of work to remove marks/stains. This product is great for small spots or glass/cup marks. This product is not intended for polishing an entire surface. For larger projects look for polishing pads that fit on a machine. This product is not fast, it takes some elbow grease to get those spots removed. But it does work. Simply place a spoon full of product on the counter, cover with a folded paper towel, and work the product over-and-over-and-over the stain. It takes a while. Be sure to reseal the area once polished.

May work for surface issues
Two marbles topped drink tables came with what appear to be production flaws (1 had a shallow gouged line, 1 had lines and a dull area). I used the product as directed in 2 sessions. The only thing that improved was the dull area. I'm sure the abrasive paste would help with surface water marks, etc.; unfortunately, it did not work for my marks.

Game Changer for Etched Honed Marble Floor
In order to remove a relatively small number of etch marks, I paid a reputable commercial stone company where I had purchased my marble flooring tiles $800 to resurface the bathroom floor. Worked well enough, but how often do you want to do that when the problem is just some spots here and there? Various cleaning products designed for stone were ineffective. I thought there must be another way and searched Amazon for "stone etching remover." After reading the reviews, I thought I would try this product to see if it would remove a few spots, especially a couple near the loo that always bother me to see. Worst case, it would make the floor look worse or uneven in finish sheen, but I was already resigned to having the stone company come back out to resurface the whole thing again. So, not much to lose by trying. The product was amazingly easy to use: it took very little substance and far less than the suggested number of minutes to completely remove each of the spots. Sometimes it was just 10-15 seconds of circular movement over the spot, then rinsing with a damp cloth to see whether it was gone or needed a bit more work. Plus, it left no hint of difference between the finish on the untreated surface of the tile and the spot-treated surface. I couldn't be happier! Caution: my experience is on honed marble, not a high polish finish; it has a light sheen.

Etched in Disappointment
As an avid home cook, I take great pride in my kitchen countertops. I spared no expense in selecting a stunning marble slab for my kitchen island, and I made sure to invest in the best products to keep it looking brand new. That's why I was devastated when I noticed a strange white mark on the surface. After some frantic googling, I discovered that it was an etch caused by some acidic fruit juice that had spilled and been left uncleaned. Desperate for a solution, I turned to Lustro Italiano Etch Remover, hoping it would be my saving grace. The directions were straightforward, and I applied the product carefully, following every step to a tee. I was optimistic as I wiped away the excess, but my heart sank as I saw that the etch was still there, mocking me with its ghostly presence. In a last-ditch effort, I applied more of the Lustro Italiano Etch Remover, hoping that the second time would be the charm. But as I wiped it away, I noticed that the marble surface was now dull and lackluster, as if all its life had been sucked out of it. I couldn't believe it - not only had the Lustro Italiano Etch Remover failed to remove the etch, but it had also managed to make my once-beautiful countertop look even worse. I have to admit, the whole situation is pretty comical. I mean, who would have thought that a little bottle of etch remover could cause so much trouble? I've even started joking with my friends that my kitchen island is now a work of abstract art - I just need to give it a pretentious name and I can sell it for millions! But in all seriousness, I do wish that the Lustro Italiano Etch Remover had worked as advertised. I understand that marble is a delicate surface, and perhaps my etch was too deep to be fixed with a simple product. But I can't help feeling a bit disappointed that I spent money on something that didn't work, and even made things worse. On the bright side, at least the Lustro Italiano Etch Remover has given me a good story to tell. Whenever I have guests over, I can regale them with the tale of how I tried to fix my countertop and ended up making it worse. And who knows, maybe one day I'll find a way to turn my kitchen island into a real work of art - or maybe I'll just cover it with a tablecloth and pretend it never happened. To be fair, I did appreciate that the Lustro Italiano Etch Remover came in a convenient 8-ounce bottle and had clear instructions on the label. The product was also relatively easy to apply, and I didn't have to use any special tools or equipment. However, despite all of these positives, the fact remains that it simply didn't work for me. I also found the name of the product a bit misleading. The word "remover" implies that the etch would be completely removed, but in reality, all it did was make it look worse. I suppose I can't blame Lustro Italiano for my high expectations, but it's worth noting that the product didn't live up to its name. In the end, I can confidently give Lustro Italiano Etch Remover a 1 out of 5 stars. Not only did it fail to deliver on its promises, but it also managed to make a bad situation even worse. On the bright side, I suppose I now have a newfound appreciation for the beauty of imperfection - or at least, that's what I tell myself to keep from crying every time I look at my kitchen island.

It work!
My wife's white marble bathroom sink countertop has become stained and discolored from daily use. I have been looking for something that could rejuvinate the sink and counter. I love having the internet to explore for solutions. I found this product on Amazon, but the reviews were not promising until I came across a reviewer that suggested looking at a video on youtube by a company representative of this product on how to use it correctly. I did and was amazed at the result. I used a paper towel just as the video suggested and rubbed in a circular motion for 3 minutes. I polished the left corner then took a photo of the left corner and the unpolished section just to the right of it. In the polished corner I can not only see the light in the reflection, I can actually see the bulbs. In the unpolished section I can only see the dull light reflection. I also ordered this same brand's sealer. I haven't gotten it yet but if it works as good as the polish I'll be very happy. I personally am very pleased with this item.

Works well but I used a power tool
My marble counter top had two oval etched areas where a bottle of bleach based cleaner had been set. I followed directions using a cloth to rub the etch remover in a circular motion, and while it was helping some, the etch was fairly deep. I then remembered I had sponge pad attachments for my variable speed drill. I applied the remover with steady pressure and a moistened sponge pad at moderate speed. Within minutes the etching was gone! I then expanded my buffing area to remove some minor scratches in the marble. After 20 minutes of work the counter top cleaned off with a smooth defect free surface. After it dried I sealed the marble and it now looks like new. Great product!

Doesn't work!
This product should be called Lustro Italiano money remover. It does not work at all. I have a carrera marble top with an etch from a soap dish, of all things. It is very noticeable as the sun reflects off it as you walk into the bathroom....just in a really bad spot. I checked this etch remover on YouTube and after many views decided it was just what I needed. It looked easy to use and in the videos worked quite well. I figured it would be well worth the $50 if it got rid of or at least diminished the etch I had on my marble top. I applied it according to the instructions on the container and did exactly what the videos showed to do. After about an hour of effort, I realized it was doing absolutely nothing. I checked the videos again to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong and tried again for about 20 min.....nothing, not even an improvement. Total waste of money and time. I just hope I didn't ruin the vanity top. I'm completely baffled about how this product got any good reviews. The picture is AFTER I tried removing the etch. VERY disappointed.

Yes it works!
The product works to remove stains and water rings. I had some water stains and a fairly deep ring from some cleaning product that had been left sitting on the counter and ate into it. The product easily removed the water stains. It took several applications but worked to remove the ring too - I did not believe that it would be possible - it was. This product is for small and limited areas and is expensive for the volume.

Etching is gone!
Was looking for a safe and easy product to use to clean up a marble coffee table that had some water etching marks. Most say it adds to the natural beauty, but when the sun hits it I hated seeing the droplets and then I left a cup without coaster on it for 1 min. 1 Min too long; and the circle was there. After applying, rubbing and then cleaning off, the etching marks are gone. Tried it on my inlaws side tables that are used and abused and was able to remove many of the marks on the surfaces. Follow the instructions and it works well.

Excellent Result - Highly Recommend
I bought the Lustro Italiano Etch Remover two years ago to remove etch marks on my two Carrera marble vanity tops. I was somewhat skeptical that it would work, and I was hesitant to use it in case it ruined the marble. Yesterday, I finally got up the nerve to try it, and I am so glad that I did. After watching the Lustro Italiano video (which I recommend), I applied the remover and worked it around the faucets. This area had been dull ever since installation, so I didn't expect much difference. After about 5 minutes I could see a reflection in the marble. I was so delighted by the results that I worked on the etch marks. I'm not sure what caused them but they were in a spray pattern all over the vanity. It took only about 5 minutes of working on each section and the etch marks were gone. I could have left it there but I went over the vanity top again, and they now gleam. It took me a total of approximately 2 hours start to finish on each vanity top. I used a dampened paper towel and about a tablespoon of the compound for each 4-6" section. I worked in a circular motion, and ensured that I didn't leave any of the mix on the countertop for too long. After the area was completed I used a wet cloth to wipe of the residue and then buffed with a dry cloth. I then sealed the countertop. I ventilated the area, covered the floor with newspaper and wore rubber gloves while working. I highly recommend this product. I was concerned about using it, but now my countertops look beautiful, and I am very glad that I decided to try it.
