Sturdiness
I got these to replace a paper castle I had made many years before that was falling apart, and I had just enough pieces to do so. My neighbor saw them and was interested and ordered this very set for her own children. Read the reviews, don't get the first product that shows up in Amazon. If you want magnetic blocks to play with, get these. They are sturdy and fine worksmanship.

Gendering Toys is Not Harmless
I love Magformers. My kids love Magformers. They should be available in as many colors as kids will play with. But to market one color palette as being "for her" in this way is troubling. This color coding of genders is actually a relatively recent phenomena. At the beginning of the 20th century many marketers aimed pink products at boys and blue at girls, but eventually the present division emerged. In the 1970s and 80s this nonsense went into steep decline. It was in the 1990s when Disney figured out new ways to monetize their princesses by bundling them together and aggressively marketing them to young girls that we saw a resurgence in this practice. Fortunately more recently it has begun to ebb and ttoy stores have started to get rid of sex segregated aisles. This is why it is so disappointing to see an awesome toy like Magformers get into this sort of thing. This stuff is not harmless. When marketers tell children that one palette is for girls, the implication that they internalize is that the other ones are for boys. This is bad for girls because it reinforces the idea that their are realms of the world that aren't for them. Its also bad for boys, especially boys who are told that there is something wrong with them if they feel drawn to the supposedly "girly" toy. Stuffing children into gendered boxes on the basis of their biological sex -- telling them that certain toys or colors are for one group but not another -- stifles the genuinely rich variety of ways of being human. In some people it can create real psychological anguish, sometimes even taking the form of body dysphorias in which the mismatch between a child's biological sex and the expectations of conformity with socially assigned gender roles cause a sense of detachment or hatred of their own bodies. We live in a media-saturated world where it is effectively impossible to escape the messaging of advertisers. This means they need to take responsibility for the effects of their marketing beyond just making more money.

My daughter loves them
I purchased these for my daughter. She likes them a lot and plays with them all the time. She didn’t mind, but it didn’t come in the box shown (boring blue box). She didn’t understand what it was because of that. It’s minor but it’s a thing. Also, these were about half the size of her other ones. That was a little disappointing.

Safe magnetic building set, that outperforms the others
Bought this for my seven year old because the other magnetic sets had rods with magnet balls or links that held the rods together. I was scared that my younger child might swallow the magnets, so I went with this set where the magnets are enclosed. I am happy with the purchase and so is she. Also with the other set when they give a piece count like 100 (which seems like a lot at first), that means when you build a triangle for example you will use 6 pieces (three rods and three magnet connectors). Once you start building you realize that 100 pieces really does not build much. But with Magformers one triangle "piece" is equal to six of the pieces from another set, so 100 Magformer pieces is really equal to 600 of the rod and magnet sets. With this set I was able to make at least three to four small items from the guide using just this one set. If you get the other sets you cannot do that (believe me I have tried).

I think this was the best present that I got my daughter for her birthday. It has kept her interest over everything else. She absolutely loves these and I actually enjoy playing with them too. lol

Great toy
Loves these things.. They keep my 2 going on 3 yr old busy, she loves staking them real high.. she has about 70 pieces. This is a great toy and can learn to count and teach colors.

These are great. I am going to buy more
These are great. I am going to buy more. I just wish they were cheaper. I got them for a 9 year old girl and she loved them and was pleased that they came in pink. She plays with them all the time. To my surprise my 4 year old and 3 year old nephew loves them more than she did. They build all kind things and make all kinds of shapes out of them. It helps develop the little ones fine motor skill and sharpens their imagination. One of them likes to make a tower and then smash it down with their hand. They are very sturdy due to the magnets, but collapses easily if you smash them. They make necklaces and head pieces also. I do recommend them even for smaller kids.

Really cool toys.
I think these things are decently built to last a fair amount of time, but not under constant punishment from kids. If they learn to behave and respect the pieces they should last pretty much forever. There is so much you can do with these and it's tons of fun while working their 3d brain a lot. The way they built the casing for the individual magnets is brilliant: they have enough space inside the plastic to shift around themselves which lets them polarize the right way together all the time. It's a neat trick to fight against repulsion of similar magnet games. Kudos

Great fun for kids and adults
My 2 year old loves to line up the shapes. Even if you're not building something it's fun to feel the magnets attract. My husband builds things for her and she loves to squish them. Excellent quality toy, I definitely wouldn't buy the knock off cheap stuff. Very easy to clean up and harder to lose because the pieces easily stick to each other. Doesn't hurt to step on like other building blocks. I love the pink purple blue girly colors.

Good sturdy FUN toy
These are quite pricey for how many you get but it is a good construction toy! My kids always ask me to make the ball. It's amazing how they all come together. My children have hours of fun with these and there aged between 3 and 8. Great for all ages

Great fun and easy to use
I bought these as a Christmas gift for my two year old niece. She loves them and so did I. She was able to build many different things independently , because the magnets make things easy for little hands. I loved them because they’re very easy to tidy up and don’t take up a lot of room. Small enough to put in a diaper bag for on the go.
