Good cut/heat protection, but not great for bigger hands/arms
My partner is a blacksmith/bladesmith and carpenter, whose work environments frequently require protection against heat, accidentally flying objects, and sharp things. I work glass in very large kilns, frequently having to reach inside, so we both need protection against heat and sharp stuff. Our old sleeves finally wore out, so we tried this sleeve and another, the MAGID KEV22TSVEL CutMaster. Both sleeve models are made from para-aramid fiber, a type of spun polyamide that's often found in ballistic armor; the most popular form of para-aramid is called Kevlar. Para-amid insulates against high heat, allowing me to greatly extend the time I can spend manipulating glass in a hot kiln. The fibers won't melt if a 1500-degree drip of glass lands on the sleeve, giving me long enough to pull the sleeve off before I'm burned. Cut-wise, these sleeves are rated to "cut-level 4" resistance, an ASTM standard that would protect against "medium-level" hazards, such as the accidental slip of a knife. They're not going to protect you from a sharp, heavy object spinning your way with a lot of force. This sleeve is available in lengths from 18 to 24 inches, which is great for my partner's much longer arms. What isn't great, however, is the size; the sleeve is a bit tight on muscular arms and the finger holes and thumb slots are also tight and a bit uncomfortable. My partner finally removed the finger hole stitching to be able to use the sleeves. The other sleeve model lacks the finger holes and appears to be a little bigger diameter, so it fit my partner better...but only comes in lengths to 20 inches. What would be great is if we could find THAT sleeve in a 24-inch length.

muy bueno
funciona muy bien contra superficies calientes, no se soportan durante mas de 15 a 30 segundos pero evita que te quemes directamente en la piel, muy recomendable

Fair to good protection
I ordered these for my son who has been training with swords. He's had a couple of nasty cuts in the past and I wanted something to prevent that from happening again. So far, these have worked out well. They are a little bit tight on him as he is a big guy, but they do go on. He took a good hit to his arm while wearing these and while it did leave a mark, he was not cut. I would recommend.

Works, but not heavy duty
This isn't Kevlar or anything close to it but it will protect your skin from minor cuts & burns. I'm other words if you have light exposure to heat or if a knife slips without too much force, you should be protected. It's not going to stop a puncture wound or burn from extreme heat. This works well to protect you from cutting yourself if there isn't a ton of pressure on the object or from a burn if you touch a hot surface quickly but it isn't going to protect you from punctures or continues contact with a hot surface.

Not attractive but they work
These sleeves are supposed to be cut resistant. I suppose they are but I got them to medicate my cats and clip their nails. Well the times I tried them, the cat's claws and teeth did not penetrate the sleeve but I could feel them. This sleeve is superior to most others as this one has finger holes and the others do not. They aren't extremely comfortable, but they aren't unpleasant either. Well the kitten's claws and teeth didn't penetrate. I can't say I'm really enthused about them, but they seem to get the job done and that's what is important. I was a little disappointed that they were only woven fabric. I was hoping for something a little more substantial. But if this is something you need to protect your arms I would recommend that you buy them because little discomfort is better than a whole lot of scratches and bites and cuts on your arms and hands. Go out and get a sleeve and try them. It's not for a pair. Just one.

Inexpensive protective sleeve.
I am a professional technician and have been wanting one of these due to the tight spaces we occasionally have to put our bodies in whether it be in a tight space with sharp edges or in the vicinity of hot parts. This sleeve I ordered was a 14 inch one with finger and thumb holes. It fits my arms but I'm not a big guy. The sleeve fabric doesn't feel like it's flame retardant or cut resistant but is comfortable and hopefully sturdy enough. I will try it out in a hot engine compartment when I can and report back.

Great safety feature for a busy kitchen or studio/shop.
We ordered this item, thinking of our busy household, that is full of great cooking and projects galore. This item has a great usage, as a safety tool, when teaching our children. Both for us and as they grow. The product is definitely cloth material, that would appear to have no cut resistance, it does great in the kitchen and most likely will also have great usage for products as well. It would be nicer if the item came in various materials and colors.

Long & fairly comfortable
Got this for my boyfriend, he has used these types of sleeves many times. He said this one felt decent, not very stretchy, fairly tight fit & he wasn't able to pull it up too high but maybe after use they'll stretch a bit. The hand part fit perfectly, there's a well-placed hole for the thumb plus each finger is separated. Does have some threads on the edges, they aren't loose but not sure if they will unravel.
