Does what it is meant for.
With the broad magnetic field, it is a lot easier to find those nails compared to my old pencil like one.

Sadly not as good as C.H. Hansen stud finder
I had a CH Hanson magnetic stud finder for many years but lost it, I keep forgetting to buy a new one until I’m gonna be doing a project and need it sooner rather than later. This stud finder was going to ship way faster than the ch Hansen stud finder so I went with it, it was also a little bit cheaper. I like the nail holder idea but unfortunately these magnets are not as strong as the aforementioned stud finder. It’s hard to find the studs, and often falls off the wall. I ended up re-purchasing the CH Hansen‘s stud finder, I should’ve returned this but was too slow. Buy once cry once, get the ch Hansen

Pricey for what it is
Was looking for a magnetic stud finder and saw this and another product. This product only comes with a single finder which is okay. However for the price, it makes you wonder when compared to its competitors that utilizes magnets as well. Overall the product does work. It takes a little getting use to since it’s a lot more bulky and the magnet is at a certain location In order to find the stud

Best for smooth walls
Initially used a magnet like this on smooth walls and it worked like a charm. Simpler and more accurate than my electronic stud finger. The magnet would hold itself to the wall and there was no question you found yourself a stud. Now, I have walls with a little bit of raised texture and it doesn’t just glide across the wall directly to the stuff. It takes a bit more time to find a stud and magnet doesn’t have the instant results I was used to so it’s no longer quite the game changer it used to be, but still a great tool for the price and simplicity.

One of my favorite finds of all time!
I wish I’d known about this thing years ago. You can use it to find the exact location of any hidden fastener. I used it to find the fasteners holding by old kitchen cabinets in place. You can find where the dead center of screw is, tap a Phillips through the paint and filler, and holy smokes...there’s your screw! I love this thing. It’s better than a stud finder. Just go across the wall with it and you’ll feel a resistance as you pass a drywall screw. Easy peasy AND IT WILL NEVER NEED BATTERIES!

Not Impressed
You can scuff along your walls with this gadget, looking for studs but I found it was about what I paid for. Not all that accurate and it could mark up your walls while you flounder around looking for screws. It finally works but takes a while and strikes me that if you are a pro, you can probably do a lot better with a more expensive model that works on more than a simple magnet!

Works very well
I purchased this because my walls are full of insulation and a lot of stud finders assume the walls are hollow and work on density so were beeping all the time when run against my walls. I have had no difficulty quickly finding the studs using this magnet. It is strong enough that once it found the screws it would hold against the wall.

Works every time - must have tool
This simple little tools works every time, way better than those deep scanning stud finders. I first check for nails using this before using the scanning stud finders and if there is a nail behind it will find it. Worth the buy.

Didn’t work for lat and plaster
Bought this as a stud finder for lat and plaster walls. It didn’t work for that while magnet based stud finders are supposed to. The magnets are strong and I could see this working for standard dry wall walls but avoid if looking for lat and plaster solution.
