Useful
These adapters for use with rain chains were easy to install and use immediately. I had three installed, with the rain chains in about an hour. Waiting for rain so we can watch them in action.

A pain to install, but once installed, worked perfectly.
The media could not be loaded. This adapter might work well in a pre-existing downspout hole, but cutting a hole where there wasn’t one was a pain. It would have been helpful if the instructions stated what size hole saw might be appropriate, but it didn’t. I think a 2 1/4” would work, but I only had a 2” and 2 1/2” in my tool box, so I used the larger one—hole saws are expensive. And cutting into a thin aluminum gutter is difficult. The reinforcement plate provided is slightly too wide for a standard 5” K gutter—so I cut off about 1/4” with tin snips so that it would lay flat in the bottom of the gutter. That’s something that the manufacturer should change, to make it easier to install in a 5” gutter—it would still have to be shaved for a 4”, but very few gutter installers install 6” gutters. I then sealed both the adapter and the reinforcement plate with gutter sealant, gluing them in place. My timing was perfect, because the gutter sealant instructions said to wait 24 hours—a driving rain happened 26 hours later. End results: great!

Larger adapter plate very helpful!
This Monarch rain chain install kit was just what I needed for my older gutters. The adapter piece on its own was not big enough to cover the shape and size of my gutter outlet so I put the larger plate through the top hat and glued them together with roof cement then dropped it through the gutter outlet and sealed in place. Kudos to the Monarch manufacturer for furnishing different size plates. I also like that the material is powder coated aluminum because the copper type would cause a corrosive reaction. Seems sturdy
I think some water leaks around from the sides but I guess it doesn't make a difference. It seems sturdy enough and u hooked a rain chain that was kinda heavy. Worked well for me.

Necessary to attach chain to gutter.
There were no instructions. Basically you will need a 2" hole saw to punch a hole in the bottom of the gutter. The adapter will just fit through thru. There is no way to attach or seal it to the bottom of the gutter. I used some silicone caulk to seal it and then drilled holes at each end of the adapter and screwed it to the gutter. The installation took 10 minutes - that is after I located a 2" hole saw, caulk and screws.

Perfect and easy to install
This was so easy to install; drop it into place, and you're done after attaching the rain chain. It took me more time to remove the old spout (merely for aesthetics) and attach chain. A DIY project for sure
