Monarch's Pure Copper Lotus Rain Chain is a beautifully crafted chain taking inspiration from the exotic lotus flower. It is a simple yet stunning design that elegantly represents the stunning appearance of the lotus flower. Extends to 8. 5 feet in length and formed by the assembly of 20 Lotus shaped cups. Each cup has a wide flared mouth to efficiently capture most of the rainwater with slightly indented and defined petals. The rain chain transports rainwater efficiently down its entire length to the ground where it can be stored in a receptacle for reuse. Buy new and direct!

This is my second lotus style rain chain. I bought the first from those company a few years ago and the weathered copper looks amazing. The only issue is if you buy it from the Amazon warehouse. I tried that and ended up with an incorrect style and only a little over 3.5 feet long. Definitely not what I was looking for (posted photo). The real deal is worth the few extra bucks. Real copper, not copper coloured or plated. Weathers more of a brown at first before getting that real weathered copper green tinge. If you are reading this and considering purchasing this...buy it.

Extension could use

The media could not be loaded. I love the way this runs the rain through the cups…We could use extension but my husband used regular chain instead. Right after installed it literally rained 30 minutes later! We were so excited to see the rain go through it right away. It works beautiful… This is our 2nd one!

Beautiful!

We really enjoy this rain chain on warm rainy days. We sit outside to watch the water and listen to the sound. It is sturdy and was easy to hang with the gutter adapter. Expect it to develop some “patina” after a few months. That is also enjoyable to watch the change.

Good rain chain with a moderate capacity.

This rain chain looks great. In selecting it ( my first ever rain chain), In picking this design, I thought the 3.5-inch top diameter of the cups would provide good capacity. In fact thought, it's the 7/8-inch hole in the bottom of the cups that determines the chain-containment amount of water. The rest of the water splashes down and out of the cups. The effect is one I find pleasing and splash is not an issue since there are no nearby house walls. Since the watershed roof area served by this gutter is roughly 30' x 40', I added a second such chain next to the first. The splash diameter 8' below the gutter is approximately 4'. I'm fine with all of that though.

Soothing to lazily watch and listen to during a rainy day.

The media could not be loaded. This rain chain is beautiful and elegant and so soothing to lazily watch and listen to during a rainy day. My wife decided that we should install a rain barrel because there was an area of our rain gutter that would occasionally overflow during large storms. An added benefit is helping with water for the front lawn. The traditional rain barrel arrangements would have required adding an ugly downspout, fortunately while surfing Amazon, it recommended a rain chain, intrigued I searched some more and found this beauty. We've have 3 rainy days since I've installed it. I had to make a couple of adjustments to help manage the flow. If the water comes down too quickly, the chain will start to swirl due to the centrifugal force of the water essentially going through multiple little drains. Also, leaves and junk that make it through to the rain gutters can clog the holes on top resulting in water being forced over the edges and splashing the side of the house. I basically narrowed the top opening from the rain gutter and inserted a steel wool pad in the top bowl to act as a sieve. Has worked well since. The chain is easy to shorten, just bend the rods at the necessary cup and remove what you don't need. The unused bowls make great candles holders. I haven't had it long enough to notice any changes in color, hopefully the copper will age nicely. In the meantime, it looks fantastic. My neighbors have given me compliments on the setup. Highly recommend you get one.

Nice alternative to awkward downspout

The media could not be loaded. We ordered this rain chain to replace a downspout by our front door. We had an old post removed and a new porch railing put in, so the old down spout was about a foot away from the new post and hanging in mid air. In my experience: PROS -Beautiful and unique. Adds to curb appeal and visual interest. -Good alternative to ugly or weirdly placed downspouts. -Sounds really lovely and is relaxing to watch (see my attached video) -Can water plants in following days from the rain water collected in a pot at the base of the chain. It’s best if you have a French drain of some sort underneath, but an anchored rain barrel can work well too. CONS -Can get overwhelmed in heavy rain if your gutters are not balanced. We are having our gutters replaced soon and plan to divert some water away from the porch where it comes down the rain chain. If you have very heavy rains or storms, it may overwhelm the chain. This really works best for drizzly rains. -A little tricky to install, but not bad. We bought the extra attachment to make the opening at the top where the gutter meets the chain smaller. -Started oxidizing quite a bit after the very first rain. It’s copper so that’s to be expected, but I hoped it would be more gradual. Overall we really like this chain and don’t regret purchasing it. I do with it would have been a little bit cheaper though.

Gorgeous!

The online photo of the Copper Lotus Rain Chain does not do it justice. On sunny days, it reflects the sun and adds warmth to the decor. On rainy days, it is similar to a fountain, and brings Zen to the garden. We hung our chain on our cedar gazebo and I couldn't be more pleased with how it looks and works.

Pretty

By two if you're putting on in an eves for a nicer length. The price is expensive, but its cooper, so we will see how well it takes the weather over time. There is no dowl or pin to hold this in a drain spout, I had to use a stick.
