Be prepared for To Go orders.

This is not advertised as squirrel proof. But I did not expect the squirrels to open the drawer, remove the suet cake and take it to go. On the positive side, my squirrels are going to be so fat they'll probably be eaten by a hawk. The construction is such that the wooden top just lifts off, and when it does, it is easy to open the drawer and remove the suet. If you are lucky enough not to have aggressive squirrels, this is a sturdy and attractive feeder. Absent squirrels, the "easy open" design could be a positive feature.

Better than expected

This suet feeder is much more sturdy than I ever expected it to be! My last one was taken by the squirrel to an unknown place. This one is so well made and sturdy that I know it will survive. It’s not really wooden- a heavier material that will outwit the squirrels, I think. The minute I hung it, tons of woodpeckers came to it...I’m not kidding! I’m having so much fun watching them.

But there is NOT a place for two for 2 Cakes

I was looking for a suet feeder that could hold 2 cakes. The description of this is confusing as it implies this feeder can accommodate 2 cakes but it does not. It comes with 2 cakes but can only fit one. Otherwise, it is a perfectly fine feeder. Nice and sturdy and easy to fill and clean.

Very well made

I have had other feeders in the past. The squirrels tore them apart. Now I use hot sauce suet. This feeder looks very sturdy and squirrel proof.

Polywood holds up

The material and construction of this suet feeder is great and will hold up for years based on my experience with previous bird feeders made from this material.

No squirrel proof

The problem is that squirrels can easily consume the cakes inside, making this impractical for most people.

Squirrels damage poly-lumber material

The squirrels are quite aggressive trying to get to the suet. They chewed the poly lumber material on the sides and bottom of the suet feeder and made it look terrible. If the suet feeder was empty, they chewed it even more!!
