Compact and clean lines
Short enough from top to bottom to fit in shelf space in new fridge. Simple design. Dishwasher safe

A Better Butter Dish
Over the years, I've come to appreciate the difficulty that often lies in making something simple, useful and inexpensive. Take this butter dish for example. I paid the same amount a year ago for a clear plastic butter dish that out of the box seemed flimsy and would likely scar and crack easily. And it did. Needing to replace it, I ordered this much sturdier, much more attractive porcelain dish that could sit well on a more formal dinner table as well as a kitchen counter for daily use. The small knob on top of the dish makes it easier to lift and replace the lid without making a mess. Other butter dishes lack such an obvious option. This can also go into a dishwasher, something my cheap plastic one could not do, making this is an easy choice. Do yourself a favor and go with this butter dish.

Cover your butter, so your stress about hard butter melts just like this butter melts on your bread
Tired of wanting to butter your toast, yet stuck with a stick of butter in the fridge that is harder than you are on yourself after you make a mistake? Tired of putting a stick of butter in the microwave for 10 seconds and it still being rock solid, then trying 11 seconds and it is melting out of the packaging? Me too. Who likes hard butter? Crazy people, that's who. Do yourself a favor and cover your butter in this beautiful creation so when the time comes, you can really butter your biscuits. Also, the first thing I did when I opened the box was drop the butter dish on the floor. Not on purpose, but it happened....So I can personally attest to the durability!

Petite and Well Made
My last butter dish of this type met a terrible end on my tiled kitchen floor. Not to worry, Norpro provided a quick solution with this well made porcelain dish. It's a bit smaller than most made these days, but fits perfectly one stick of butter/margarine. A small ridge around the stick keeps the top from slipping or being pushed against the contents and making an oily little mess. I'm very pleased and would buy again (and may have to the way I go through butter dishes). Definitely recommended!

Cut through your indecision like a hot knife through...
Face it, you're trying to spend your money wisely and with all of these options available, you need expert advice to make it buttery smooth. Five stars because it's a butter dish, for crying out loud. I like the little lip inside that helps keep the butter from sliding around. Personally, there was one a few years ago from BBY that was a bit shorter and more rounded, but no inner lip, so the butter would slide around easier. Liked the look a little better though. But when a kiddo busts it, you take what you can get. *shrug* Shy of ordering this, the best recommendation I can give is heading to China and learning the art of white porcelain firing and glazing, and making your own butter dishes, sugar bowls, tea pots, and coming home with them. This Norco 8370 Butter Dish, however, may be a slightly more affordable alternative.

3 Orders + Awesome Customer Service
The First Order was for my mom last Christmas. Great quality for the price! My sister loved my mom's so much, I bought her one for this year's Christmas. The bottom was broken, unfortunately, when she took it out of the packaging. The Company said, "No worries. Don't return it. We'll just send you a new one today." It came immediately. Great Customer service! And now... low and behold, I chipped my old butter dish (without a top handle) so now I finally get to order myself one too!
