Essential
I love these butter dishes. I will never go back to the flat glass ones I used to use. I must say, they are easy to clean, but they can be super slippery when they have a thin layer of butter on them. So wash carefully! I have had butter mold in one once, but I hadn't changed the water for a long time as instructed. As long as I change the water regularly, and wash between refilling an empty dish, the butter has stayed in perfect condition.

Was a gift
Bought as a gift and she loves it. Nice and heavy so holds the chill longer.

It’s Ok
I say it’s ok but the butter didn’t stay in the side it was supposed to. The butter slid down into the bottom. Then it was messy using it. I solved the problem by using it upside down. Bell facing up and the part intended for the base I put on top. I hate wasting money so I made a way for it to work for me.

Great if you and your family use a lot of butter
I had a butter bell some years ago and loved it. It's easy to use and the mistake you're likely to make is adding too much water. But that's easily corrected. It will keep butter fresh as long as the surface of the butter is touching the water. Once that's no longer possible, I suggest storing it in the refrigerator to prolong freshness and keep mold at bay.

Happy butter
My butter was tired of my frustration as I struggled to spread it on my toast. Since it's been on my counter there have been no fights or moments of anger. My butter is softer now.

Works great if it isn't to hot
It works wonderfully as long as it isn't to hot. It's been over 100° here for almost a month and multiple times I have lifted the bell to find all of my butter floating in the water. But on days when it's not as hot the butter stays wonderfully soft and in the bell.

Butter never softened!
After 2 weeks, the butter never softened. Finally molded even though I changed and used salt water. The cup is too big. We don’t use that much butter unless baking.
